Since using it I've had much better sleep. It is so cosy and not heavy. The control handset is simple to use with a good range of settings and heats up rapidly. However on 1st use I discovered the handset dial glowed which partially lit up the bedroom wall. Easily solved as I now just turn it upside down so that it doesn't reflect!

If you wish to hand wash the blanket use a mild washing powder in lukewarm water and soak for 15 mins. The most disappointing element is that the blanket is just not made the way they used to be. the material seems to get thinner and thinner with each successive one I've bought over th e years and this is no exception such that you can feel the wires in the blanket, even with the sheet in between and so it's a little uncomfortable until you get used to it. The most common reason for premature breakdown of electric blankets is being in bed whilst the blanket is on a pre heat setting, this can cause localised overheating, even after a short period of time.
