Description

I also run it in all my personal vehicles. That poster is right about the graphite color changing the overall color of the oil. It contains very strong cleaning agents. In fact, they are so strong that they reduce the lubricating performance of the engine oil. This is why you must not drive anymore after you have added it. Just let the engine idle for 10-15 minutes. During this time the cleaning agents dissolve deposits and contaminants. They are drained together with the used oil. The fresh oil enters a clean engine and can deliver its full performance.” Using oil additives in your engine What additives would you recommend adding to engine oil? In general terms Ceretec or ZDDP (Zinc based) additives can reduce cold start wear, whereas Moly based additives won't make much difference to cold start wear if a good quality oil with enough Zinc and a low cold viscosity is used. Moly tends to be more effectice at higher temperatures, but most engine oil additives are just snake oil and using them is not as effective as selecting a good oil in the first place, unless you have a specific problem, like cam lobe wear on the VW diesels that results from using oil with too low a Zinc content. otherwise apply when there is at least 5,000 km to go before the next oil change so that CERA TEC has plenty of time in which to have an effect There have been a number of independent shops and dealers that have witnessed crankshaft to bearings seizing about two complete warm up's of the oil after OFHG changes! They actually produced a bulletin having one crank the engine over for 20 seconds 3 times (not via the key, so no fuel enters the engine) to prime the oiling system.

Before letting the engine get to this point, you should be either using an oil additive or performing an oil change. Increase Fuel Economy We'll see what the long-term verdict is on Liqui Moly products, but so far, it appears to work well. I don't think this additive will make the turbo last any longer as they fail because of poor driver style, bad oil or poor filtration issues and the very high oil temperatures would burn if off the turbo shell bearings. Investing into a quality oil additive can completely transform the way your engine performs. However, it can also be used in a range of other oils that include automatic transmission fluid, differential oil, power steering systems and others. with turbochargers, catalytic converters or particle filters. In new vehicles, CERA TEC supports engine break-in and protects against excessive wear. With a particle size of only 0.2 μm, it is absolutely compatible with all fi lters. Do not use in automatic transmissions and motorbikes with a wet clutch!

About Pagid

Using an additive will put the motor oil to its correct viscosity and ensure the engine runs smoothly and at its best. Different Types of Additives

I read this thread https://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=1271909 a few months ago and decided to follow Don Fields' (MrMCar) recommendation to use Liqui Moly Leichtlauf 5W-40. I had been using AMSOIL European 5W-40 with their engine flush at each oil change for many years. Amusingly ,this caused a fair bit of commotion among the people at the shop. Anyway, with the engine oil drained, the oil filter was replaced , a fresh can of synthetic engine oil was poured in and I was good to go. I also changed the transmission (5-speed manual) and differential oils using Red Line MTL and Royal Purple Max Gear 75W-90 along with the Liqui Moly Anti-Friction Additive for Manual Transmissions & Differentials in both the transmission and differential. I have to say, the diff is much quieter now - no more whine. the fine ceramic particles, is how Dipl.-Ing. Peter Kunz, who supervised the test, summarizes the results. Kunz’s initial skepticism gave way: After the tests I was Despite the abuse the lubricant had gone through, there weren’t any noticible drop of the oil’s preformance which I base it on; oil tempreture, smoothness of engine during acceleration and quietness of the engine at idling.

Cera Tec is an oil additive that significantly reduces wear and tear and protects the engine, even in the case of an oil loss. It is effective up to 30,000 miles. Less wear and tear means fewer problems with worn-out parts and that means a longer engine lifetime.” Do you have any evidence to prove Cera Tec actually makes a difference to preserving an engine? If you are noticing that your miles per gallon is not meeting expectations, it may be due to the engine oil. If the moving parts of the engine are not lubricated appropriately, there will be an increase in friction, which means more stress on the engine. Helping lubricate these components with an additive can see minor MPG gains. Cleaning Most oil additives can be added to motor oil at any time but we recommend using them at every oil change. However, it is best to follow what the manufacturer states as some differ. We would also advise that you only use the specified amount once per oil change because using it too often may completely change the chemical formulation of the oil. Conclusion
