I am new to Rachel Abbot's work, although I know how well-respected she is as an author. I believe And So It Begins is her first psychological thriller and so I was really keen to make this my first Abbot. I can't say that I particularly liked any of the characters in the story and yet I was still compelled to read onward. There are really only two who, by the end of the story, I felt any kind of sympathy for, both of them ultimately victims in a dangerous and deadly game. This is such a twisted and thought provoking read, and the author managed to manipulate my emotions so brilliantly that I went from sympathy to anger in no time flat. She definitely threw in a good few red herrings, although along the way and whilst the ending was not particularly a surprise over all, she still managed to catch me unawares with an unexpected revelation. Mark and Evie had a whirlwind romance, much to his controlling sister Cloe’s disgust. Evie has made Mark live again after the death of his wife from a tragic accident.

Here at And So It Begins, I believe in inspirational ideas, high quality work, honesty and strong family values. My aspiration is to understand your needs, work with you and to help your business or adventure bloom. Oh, this is a great story. You genuinely don't guess who's who or what's what till it's spelled out for you - which doesn't happen soon, I assure you. I make no secret of the fact that I am a bit of a fan of this author, especially her Tom Douglas series, so I was very happy to get my mitts on this, her latest stand alone book. Another excellent read by Rachel Abbott. I would love to spend a day in her head, where she gets her ideas from I’ll never know. All I do know is she is a literary genius!A well paced psychological thriller centring around the relationships between Mark and Evie (who have a baby girl together) and Marks jealous sister Cleo. The story starts with the police receiving a 999 call from a distraught woman screaming for help then the line going dead. With the call traced to photographer Marcus North’s impressive cliff-top house, Sergeant Stephanie King can’t help but think about the last time she was there. This time though, it is a very different scene that meets her. Two bodies in bed, covered in blood with no signs of forced entry means this is going to be a very interesting case. Evie and Mark are a couple with an infant daughter. Mark's first wife died accidentally and he is now a wealthy photographer in a magnificent house overlooking the sea. All in the house is not as it appears though and the story of Evie and Mark unravels slowly and with great suspense. During the Brakiri "Day of the Dead," Kosh's spirit apparently communicated a message to the spirit of Zoe, who appeared to Elizabeth Lochley. Zoe asked Lochley to convey the message to Sheridan: "When the long night comes, return to the end of the beginning." [30] The genesis and maturation of a planet, its poise and orbit, the bended tree recovering itself from the strong wind, the vital resources of every animal and vegetable, are demonstrations of the self-sufficing, and therefore self-relying soul.

I have nearly a decade’s experience within a studio design team in the marketing and print industry. This means all my geeky knowledge serves to help you get the very best for your business or adventure. I don’t want to bamb He cast a sinister look at the little flame which I had enticed to play between the ribs, swept the cat from its elevation, and bestowing himself in the vacancy, commenced the operation of stuffing a three-inch pipe with tobacco.

There is nothing so inspiring in life as the sight of a legitimate ambition, no matter how incipient. It gives colour, force, and beauty to the possessor. When Evie starts having accidents at home, her friends grow concerned. Could Mark be causing her injuries? Called out to their cliff-top house one night, Sergeant Stephanie King finds two bodies entangled on blood-drenched sheets.
