Description

I’m a Patient, and My Patient is in Love With a Pedophile is more contrived and even more implausible than the first one, starting with the idea that a therapist would be allowed to continue his practice and even distribute meds in prison. So, if you’re selling a book based off of it’s correlation to real life…it should be a little more believable, eh? The second patient file belongs to Don, a prisoner who is there because he intentionally infected people with HIV and Elliot tries to help him only to be attacked and injected with Don’s blood meaning he has a high chance of getting HIV unless he gets the proper medication. However, he quickly figures out that it was a hoax and that Shawn is Maggie and the reason he won’t speak is because his voice hasn’t dropped yet and Elliot helps him come to terms with being himself and being comfortable in his own skin but before Shawn leaves he warns Elliot not to hurt Noah which he doesn’t understand right now.

From the three books i feel the hardest one to read was the second because it was impossible that SPOILER ALERT, being in prision he’ll keep being a psychologist, and everything is always against him.The second patient file belongs to Linus, who is a complete germaphobe who correctly predicts the outbreak of an infectious disease on the island. It’s a collection of shit post that were posted to a reddit group that tells other people to believe its real even though it’s not. Not in the scenarios that the patients presented with — but with the “therapists” course of actions. In fact, it’s usually loosely based on a series of true events that probably had nothing to do with each other. I also liked how the books starts right where the last one left off, and the questions that were answered (what happened to Noah?

Right at the end of the book we get a comment on the SlapDot announcement about a massacre that is going to be livestreamed during the retreat and I can’t wait to jump into the final book as soon as I can and I hope that Elliot gets the happy ending he deserves with Noah. He is then approached by Don’s cellmate who offers him the pills he was given for his help and Elliot immediately agrees. In regards to the events and actions taken in this collection of stories, this shit is a little bit of a stretch. These are fantastic stories that can be enjoyed individually for a quick read or as chapters of a book. I am aware that it is fiction, but, it’s supposedly based on alleged “real life” stories plucked from reddit forums. Let me compare it to a roller coaster again, where you get off and are standing on solid ground but you still feel like you are moving or unstable.

I won’t say the books aren’t kind of entertaining, because to me they were, i did enjoy reading them.

Harper is a school therapist until he commits the mistake of a life time and gets fired, then he starts his own therapist consultation. I think these started as a reddit post, if i remember right, and it developed into a trilogy of a psychologist who cannot stop mendeling into the lives of his patients. Harper has compiled files of six “broken” patients he has treated—and he is allowing readers a peek at what’s inside. What it was instead was a Nancy Drew style coincidence machine laced with unbelievable characters, bad writing, and a plot that would have had me laughing if it was just a little worse. Obviously, we had a glimpse of his battle with self-shame and self-harm but his relationship with Zach hasn’t really been explored.

When the DNA on the new rape comes back, Zach is shown to be the rapist but Elliot refuses to believe it. It is soon revealed that this is just another elaborate prank which has set Elliot’s nerves completely on edge. Like a compilation of real life situations with extravagant actions to make one big, scary and dramatic effect on the public.Perhaps it all circles back to formatting issues with the Kindle, but this book is simply a series of six first person narratives, with a paragraph or two added to the end of each as semi-footnotes. Zach is also able to reunite Elliot and Noah, and Noah is a darling as he wants to continue his budding relationship with Elliot even though he has tested positive for HIV. He ranted about her every week -- she didn't appreciate him, she led him on, her friends mocked him, etc.
