Because of the wide film it uses, this camera is great for taking pictures of group of people, especially at parties and weddings. It’s also in great use when it comes to photographing landscapes. Costs aside, Polaroid film's picture quality is inconsistent and requires some care to use properly. This is especially true with the color materials, which tend to produce undersaturated images with a very slight brown color cast on warm days and a blueish tint in cold weather, along with some contrast loss if you don't shield the film from light as it develops. Fuji's color Instax Square materials show natural, properly saturated color and don't require you to put them in the dark as they develop. On top of these, Polaroid makes an instant photo printer called the Polaroid Lab, which is technically an i-Type product.

I’ve spent the past few weeks shooting the Square SQ1 around the house, with my kids, out on walks, and even on a frigid night at the beach. In nearly every case, it was pure pleasure. And to my surprise, this camera even made one of my favorite photos of the year. Compared to my Polaroid One Step 2… well, let’s not get into that just yet. Toward the end of last year, Fujifilm released a new instant camera to use with their Instax Square format film. Called the Instax Square SQ1, it’s one of the simplest and most visually striking instant cameras that the brand currently makes. The camera’s sharp lens and its narrow aperture ensure everything from one foot away to infinity will be in focus. The camera’s electronic brain, shutter, and flash do their best to shoot a properly-exposed photo every time we press the shutter release button. Using an LCD rather than a physical viewfinder, the Evo lets you preview your exact shot, tweak your exposure compensation and even add lens and and film filters.The main improvements from earlier Minis are automatic exposure (no more setting for sunny/cloudy etc.) and better flash compensation. There’s a selfie mode that also works for closeups and… basically no other features. Which is a good thing. Simply point and shoot! Fujifilm Instax Mini Evo – This is the newest Fuji Instax Mini camera, and it might be the best one ever made. James reviewed it recently and said as much, after all. But don’t mistake my meaning. Sure, I paid attention to the photos that I was taking, but not inordinately so. I shot with purpose, as I do on my best days, it’s true, but I didn’t obsess. At the moments when I simply made a snapshot, the Fuji did its work with greater aplomb than many of the other instant cameras that I’ve used. Instax mini 9 has a selfie mirror for taking selfies easily. A macro lens lets you shoot smaller subjects up to 14 inches away. By changing the brightness adjustment dial to the high-key mode marking you can take pictures with a softer impression.
