I would very much doubt they would have replaced it with the Gale until they were satisfied the Gale was a much better piece of kit. Our extensive range of camping air pumps are perfect for pumping up camping air beds and also the new air tents and awnings. By accident last time we were out my wife plugged the pump into the van 12v socket and it worked no issues.

I have just purchased a rechargeable battery (no cables, so no distance restriction) inflater as we have inflation tow behind toys for the jetski and I very impressed with it so will try it on the air awning and may use this. I have a Kampa fiesta pro and find it doesn't take as long to blow it up manually than using a 12v pump and the kampa pump will not over inflate the tubes. Wasn’t sure if the 12v cable would reach from our caravan 12v socket to the end of our Ace air 400 but it does no problem. Have used the hand pump and found it to be quite good but using this on one of the hottest days last year not recommended. We have the Vango Varkala and I can inflate it in less time than it would take me to get an electric pump out of the boot and plug the thing in. To use, simply plug into a 12 volt power source, such as the cigarette lighter socket in your car or motorhome, using the extra long cable provided, then set the PSI ( Pounds Per Square Inch ) that you require and let the pump take care of the rest. The Kampa Gale pump is not a two stage pump therefore no high/low pressure, The downfall of the two stage pumps are when they meet any constriction in the air beams they they go into high pressure low volume setting which means it takes a lot longer to inflate the awning.

The unit has a digital display along with adjustable pressure settings and will inflate and comes complete with adaptors for air beds as well as tents and awnings. As the 12V outlet in the van is restricted to 4A and will obviously draw power from the van battery, I always use the car socket and keep the engine running whilst it's pumping.

We have a Kampa 420 Air, which we have used a few times and it's been quite quick to inflate using a Ryobi Cordless Inflator to start it off and then finished off with the hand pump. Hand pumps are perfect for inflating small to medium-sized items, while electric and battery-operated pumps can quickly inflate larger items such as air mattresses and inflatable rafts. I believe this pump has now been around for about 12 months and am looking for any feedback on its use (speed, reliability, etc) Had the Kampa Breeze which packed up after 13 months and 3 x use. We have the 400 and it's up very quickly with the Breeze apart from 2 occasions now when I haven't closed a tap properly. With a range of power options and sizes, from portable manual pumps to heavy-duty electric pumps, these air pumps are the perfect addition to your camping, hiking, and outdoor gear collection.

I use a Hand Pump, I was offered an Electric one FOC but declined as the model I was offered had some problems, a friend of mine had his awning literally blow up twice despite setting the pump to the correct pressure. If for any reason we are unable to honour this commitment then we will endeavour to inform you as soon as possible. I have the mk1 awning with the white inflation point, when I tried to unscrew the tube, the big white nut on the inflation point was turning and the air was coming out . I managed to "redesign" the Sevylor fitting on the high pressure hose and it fits snugly into the inflation socket on the awning so I can just let it do it's thing.Just wondering if any "more mature" caravanners here use an electric pump or manage with a manual pump. once I had found out that some idiot had tried to inflate it with one of the release valves open, doh!

However, my car tyre pump is also noisy, and I never heard a Breeze in operation, so the "noise" it makes is probably normal for this type f compressor. Having tried to inflate a caravan tyre with a high pressure pump which blew the 10A aux fuse in the caravan I am now a little wary (although I do notice that most appear use the car socket which seems less convenient).I had to go to reception and borrow a monkey wrench so that I could hold the white nut and unscrew the tube.
