You’ll get to draw a single square anywhere that you’d like and fill in that shape with one of the features shown. It's not unusual to start the game using the iconography the game suggests before you end up spending some real time illustrating the map as you add more and more to the world in front of you, so you end up with a specific story where you can see the struggle for players to try mitigate the mistakes or lack of planning from the early stages of the game. If a monster falls in this area at any point, it is destroyed and crossed out, meaning it has no impact. If there is ever a scenario where that shape is impossible to fit onto your map, players either choose the alternative shape on the Explore card or must draw a 1×1 square. Our Six Degrees of Expectation have been written to make it easier for you to find out what is important to you as a player.Every turn you draw a card, then draw your polyomino choice on the map, then add the card to the season card and move on to the next card. During each season Explore cards will be flipped up one at a time and, in addition to dictating which shapes and features may be drawn that turn, these cards will also use up time as well. There is an ambush pack promo available for the game, and while I usually don't like promos, this is a perfect way to expand the types and shapes of monsters available for the game. The games doesn’t bog down with higher player counts as everyone is drawing from the same flipped card. At the end of the game, you calculate your total number of reputation stars, then tally up the numbers on the decree cards and subtract the total from your score. That no amount of preparation would help you if the uncontrolled environment decided to focus it's gaze entirely on you, to put you back in the food chain. The game wasn’t stressful, intense, or a huge brain burner like other games I had tried around the same time (thinking of Final Girl for the stressful aspect, and Under Falling skies for the brain burner), so it fit really well in my collection.
