Description

Amendment 2 now insists that an RCD must be provided where children or disabled persons are present, regardless of whether a risk assessment has been done. The standard therefore covers the Extra Low Voltage (ELV) range (0-50V AC, 0-120V DC), and the Low Voltage (LV) range (50-1000V AC, 120-1500V DC).

Consenting to these technologies will allow us to process data such as browsing behaviour or unique IDs on this site. The last update to the Wiring Regulations (Amendment 1, updating the requirements around electric vehicle charging installations) will be withdrawn on 27th September 2022. We offer the full 2382-22 course which is delivered over 3 full days and we have the 2 day update course. This means that candidates must purchase and bring a copy of BS7671 in its original format to the examination. However, they may be used in a court of law in evidence to claim compliance with statutory requirements stated in statutory regulations such as the Electricity At Work Regulation 1989 or the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.Additionally, wiring or circuits that are unsafe or have not been certified may invalidate home insurance, so you should not be tempted to take the risk.

The 18th Edition Wiring Regulations are the British Standard ( BS7671) to which all commercial, domestic and industrial electrical installation works must comply. As this is a required set of regulations, electricians need to have a full understanding of the terminology that will be used in practice. The IET has stated that from January 2019, all electrical work carried out in the UK must comply with the 18th Edition. The 18th Edition Wiring Regulations electrical course is designed for practicing electricians that want to carry out electrotechnical work, ensuring each candidate has the knowledge and can show compliance with the wiring regulations set out by IET.Learners can also bring with them any materials used by their employer, copies of risk assessments or management systems so that they can see how their materials fit in to the context of the training. Flexibility: Online/blended learning allows students to access course materials and lectures at their own convenience. The course is ideal for anyone working in the electrical industry who needs to be up to date with the latest 18th Edition of the Wiring Regulations (released 28th March 2022). This 18th Edition course is particularly appropriate for those who design, install, commission or maintain low-voltage electrical installations. However, since there is a huge amount of information you will need to go through, we strongly advise you to read through our guide prior to any course and hence avoid various pressures.

There are guided questions, test your knowledge exercises and practice questions for each of the Parts of BS7671 designed to reinforce the learning, and some excellent final mock examinations at the end of the course. But now, there is no need to complete multiple forms to confirm whether each element has been inspected or is not applicable.During this course you will learn how to efficiently navigate the current edition of the IET Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671.
