Most children’s games do a good job on the first front but forget about making the game enjoyable for everyone. Of all of the games that I enjoyed when I was a child, Loopin’ Louie is arguably the game that has held up the best. If you have any questions, comments, or would like to see you product reviewed on Geeky Hobbies, check out our contact us page. With how popular Loopin’ Louie is, it always surprised me that Loopin’ Louie was one of those 1990s Milton Bradley games that seemed to have been forgotten by Milton Bradley. Loopin’ Louie is one of the top 1,000 games on Board Game Geek and is currently rated as the ninth best children’s game of all time.

Since 2010 the game has been released a couple other times including a version by Spin Master which was released just last year. Generally when you revisit games that you enjoyed when you were a kid, you are left disappointed as they are never as good as you remember.in this fast-paced and hilarious board game, four players face off to see who can keep their chickens safe from loop in’ Louie! In the last couple years I have been going back and playing a lot of the games that I enjoyed as a child. It might just be nostalgia talking but I was surprised by how well Loopin’ Louie holds up over 25 years later.

As you are doing the same thing over and over throughout the entire game, it can get a little repetitive after a while. The components don’t always work perfect as well and the newer versions are made quite a bit cheaper than the original version. A good children’s game should be simple enough that children won’t have any problems playing the game. If you hold down the flipper with your other hand it helps but there are still times when you will accidentally knock down your own chickens. Players choose whether they want to place the flipper in the normal (wider side of flipper out) or the advanced position (narrower side of flipper out). The other problem is the fact that good luck finding a copy that still has all of the original chicken tokens. It looks like all you have to do is repeatedly tap a lever to keep Louie in the air, but there is actually quite a bit of skill involved. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. I will also admit that nostalgia is slightly affecting my judgement because Loopin’ Louie was arguably my favorite board game when I was a kid. The basic concept of Loopin’ Louie seems like it would have very little skill involved but I think there is more to the game than some people give it credit for.

Each barn has a little lever, which is used to knock the rotating plane away from your chickens and hopefully into someone else’s. The game works really well as a filler game that you play for fifteen minutes or so and then bring out another day. The game requires a screwdriver to assemble a central crane tower with a figure of the titular Louie in a biplane attached to the end of the crane. If you are looking for an original copy of the game make sure you find one that still has all of the tokens. It is not possible for us to draw any conclusions about you, and any data collected as a result will never be passed on to third parties. The game is not quite as good as I remember but it is more enjoyable than you would expect from a children’s game from the 1990s. An evolution of the classic Don't Break the Ice, using hexagonal blocks in two colours instead of square, which adds a little more strategy. Loopin' Louie, is an interactive electronic board game designed by Carol Wiseley and published by Milton Bradley in 1992. The only defense the farmers can come up with are gigantic flippers that knock Louie back into the air.
