It might not seem like the Pioneer HDJ-CX is that special, but it can be pretty reliable for a good sound. As far as accurate studio headphones go, there is a ton of strong competition, but if you’re specifically looking for a flat ear cup with a focus on bass, then the CX will better speak to you. Pros Following on nicely, we have the massively popular HD 25s from Sennheiser. These are an on-ear design for professional DJs, and some would say the ‘industry standard’!

With regards to comfort, they’re surprisingly lightweight, and the large vegan leather cushions and headband both contain memory foam, making them extremely comfortable for extended use (the leather is resistant to sweat). The headphones come with interchangeable straight and coiled cables as well as a holder for the 1⁄4” plug adapter which you can clip to the cable so you never lose it. A pair of replacement ear pads are also included.Cutting through the marketing speak, the HDJ-X10s are extremely well balanced, with a low-end that’s not overpowering or ‘muddy’ in any way. Because of this, we’d be happy using these in the studio as well. With help from the ‘sound insulation chamber’, they also eliminate external noise incredibly well, as you’d expect from the design. You can wear the HDJ-CX headphones for several hours and hardly feel their presence. This supreme level of comfort comes from the brand-new lightweight, ergonomic design. Every tiny detail has been considered, including the wiring in the cable which has been slimmed down to reduce weight, and even the positioning of the curl on the coiled cable which has been moved closer to the plug for greater balance. It’s easy to find a perfect fit thanks to all this, plus a high level of flex in the sturdy, stainless steel headband and adjustable earcups.

The Pioneer HDJ-CX Lightweight On-Ear DJ Headphones are designed for professionals, with an ultra-lightweight design that will make you forget you're wearing headphones at all! Combining superior comfort with stunning, balanced sound quality; the HDJ-CX set a new standard for DJ headphones with a robust yet flexible design. Another nice (and premium) selling point is that the polyurethane leather used for the ear pads and headband has a Nano coating on it. This is resistant to sweat, dirt and general deterioration.
