J-curl lash extensions are perfect for people with arrow-straight lashes that point upward or straight. With a 45-degree angle, B-curl lashes are slightly curlier than J-curls. Still, both are a great option for clients with lashes that points upward. This curl lash is perfect for individuals seeking a more noticeable look without going too extreme. Generally, the natural eyelashes of Asians are thinner than those of other ethnicities. Also, you’ll notice that with clients over the age of 50 their eyelashes are thinner than your younger clients.

Generally speaking, shorter extensions of 5-9mm are used for inner corners or under eyelash extensions, and 9-13mm extensions are used for the majority of the set. Some artists mix longer lengths from 14mm or longer lashes to create a Hybrid eyelash extension. Here, I and J are more or less straight with a slight curl that’s excellent for clients with straight lashes. It’s a good option for aged clients whose lashes have lost the curling ability too. C is a natural curl while CC is curvier, followed by D, DD, and U. Unfortunately, there’s no straightforward answer since no curl is one-size-fits-all. The truth is our eyes are shaped differently, so there is no one type of curl that suits everyone. If you use a natural curl on a client that has upward angled natural lashes, then you can get a good lift, but if you use them on downward angle lashes, then you will not get that ‘open eye effect’. Therefore, the intensity of the curl when fitted depends on the angle of the client’s natural lashes. The C curl provides a more natural, soft curl, while the D curl adds a dramatic, lifted appearance to your lashes. This curl is ideal for clients looking for a more defined look while still maintaining a natural appearance. You should also keep in mind that the more defined the curl is, like C and D curls, the shorter the lash extension will be, as most of its length is taken up by the curl. This is why it is good to use a variety of lash extensions in your work. It's one of the curlier curls, and if not applied correctly, retention may not be as great as the straight curls, but it adds drama and opens the eye more, making it excellent for downward-angled natural lashes.

Eyelashes extensions are made of PBT. The material itself doesn't expire, but over time, the lash curls can lose their shape. To prevent the curls from relaxing, keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or humidity. Glasses: Clients who wear glasses should select a slightly stronger lash extension curl, as overly straight curls can touch the lenses and cause discomfort. You need to choose the proper lash extension with glasses.Besides I curl lashes (which are generally reserved for men seeking added volume without any curl), J curl lashes are the straightest lash style. They mimic the slight curvature of most people’s real eyelashes, meaning they are ideal for creating a very natural effect. Choose J curl lashes for a subtle, conservative look that’s perfect when you don’t want people to know you’re wearing false eyelashes. They will still add plenty of gorgeous length and volume, just not much of a curl.
