None of the corners on them are particularly perfect, but one of them definitely seems like it was hit by something. Audio products have been voiced like this on purpose throughout the headphone industry, even in a high-end industry, for a very long time. Their plan seems to be to impress those people, rather than cater towards someone looking for a clean midrange.

In small rooms, early reflections figure prominently in what is measured and heard in the room so this curve may provide insights into potential sound quality.Don't forget you wouldn't be able to add the Dolby Atmos top speaker if you mounted them horizontally either. I am wondering if I am using them properly and/or have them positioned correctly and have the bass/treble set optimally?

What the Jamo most assuredly doesn’t have – and this is something of which Paul Hollywood would doubtless approve – is a soggy bottom. The enclosure is tapered towards the front so that the baffle is slightly narrower than the back panel, which aids rigidity and also dissuades standing waves from bouncing around inside. I don't find them bright or harsh but i'm also not the type of person who sits down in front of them to listen to music for hours. The bass is punchy, for sure, but also quite boomy and resonant with lower male vocals and the highs are frankly annoying. But if you have a lower power receiver, you may find yourself reaching for that volume just a little bit more to kind of coax the maximum amount of impact out of these loudspeakers.Another impressive thing is power handling because most speakers use a five-inch woofer again for the money.

Danish speaker maker Jamo notched up its half century this year and to celebrate launched the Studio S range, which appears to be aimed at the home cinema market – note the four tiny ‘active’ lugs to accept, locate and drive an upward-firing ATM topper for a Dolby Atmos feed. Finally, if the spouse needs something pretty and you can’t go with something from Ascend, Elac, HSU, etc (sorry), these fit the bill. On top here, we have a soft dome tweeter that’s housed in a little waveguide or a horn for you pedantic individuals. If these are the first pair of speakers you hear, you’ll be impressed at how clear and clean the top end is, and how much bass something this small can make.

No matter what finish it’s in, black, white, or walnut, all three of which, in my humble opinion, are gorgeous.

Moreso, this is information for those who prefer “just the facts” and prefer to have the data without the filler. Boz Scaggs is a comparatively easy ride, too, the slightly larger-than-life production held in check by the Jamo’s natural incisiveness and precision. The guitar sounds great, especially the higher notes, but anything in the midrange is moved to the background, behind the top end and low end. Probably going to want an amp 40 wpc minimum, if you want to play them really loud then you might want to get an amp with 60 or 80 wpc since the 40 watt will probably start to distort if you max it out.The front panel hosts a 1-inch (25mm) soft dome tweeter set in a waveguide and a 5-inch (127mm) aluminized polyfiber woofer, and a slot bass port.
