Loser Protagonist: Is considered to be this by most of the cast, as everyone they interact with can use magic while they cannot. Crowley ends up assigning them the beast tamer role in the prologue due to seeing that their ability to command the mages in battle could be useful, but admits that the function is mediocre. She's also female, albeit a Bifauxnen, whereas the original Yuu's gender is never directly alluded to. In the game, it was implied that Yuu was wearing ceremonial robe upon arriving to Night Raven College, but in the comic, Yuuken wears his school uniform. The English translation retcons this moment, instead having Grim wish to become a powerful mage and showing no ungratefulness towards Yuu for giving up their chance to wish for something.

The Face: As a duo with Yuu, he’s usually the one doing the talking. Characters will also be shown interacting with him first before asking Yuu anything.Odd Name Out: Their Canon Name is 'Yuu', which Ace will remark on as being weird in the prologue. Considering the names of everyone else in the cast, it does stand out as the only Japanese sounding name. Bueno ya he hecho esto con Tokyo Revengers asique decidí hacerlo con TW para sacarme las ideas de la cabeza.

The cast is simple and trite, and skews exclusively male with an emphasis on bishonen. I cannot recall seeing a single female character in this volume, implying that this magical school is perhaps a boys' school of some sort. No BL elements were explored in this volume, though the improbable fanciness of the cast's design would indicate that they have some interest in readers from that market. Ornate design notwithstanding, these boys are as simple as cornflakes and exist solely to be looked at. The Main Characters Do Everything: Somehow ends up involved in the solving of the problems of the schools various dorms, mainly with the help of featured characters thanks to The Call Knows Where You Live. By Chapter 4, according to Jamil, the other students have taken notice of this. Pineda, Rafael Antonio (February 19, 2021). "Disney: Twisted-Wonderland Game's Main Story Gets 1st Manga Series". Anime News Network . Retrieved February 19, 2021.

The Gadfly: Tapping on certain characters on the home screen reveals that Yuu is poking them, tugging on their sleeves or outright hitting them, much to some of the characters’ annoyance. While the chapter follows the few parts quite closely, the manga's depiction expands on the Prologue in several ways. Cayanan, Joanna (July 18, 2023). a b Disney Twisted-Wonderland The Comic Episode of Heartslabyul 4(完). Square Enix . Retrieved March 25, 2023. Disney Twisted-Wonderland stands out among the other Japanese-developed collaborations because of how unabashedly otaku it is. The game is a loose reinterpretation of classic Disney villains who don't actually appear directly in the story. Instead, they're portrayed as historical figures that inspired the original characters and dormitories of a magical academy. This allows the game to put all its focus into its large cast of pretty boys, who have the vibes of the Disney villains but not much else in common. The big appeal of the game is in spending time with the boys as the mystery of the world slowly unravels. With that said, I am SOOOOOO stoked for this to physically release!! I deeply enjoyed reading this and would definitely recommend it whether you're a fan of the game or not! It's a fun story with great art and great characters! Because of the otaku slant, it's only inevitable that the bulk of early commentary about the game is about the elements that seem incongruous with the family-friendly image of classic Disney, like how the boys have lanky and edgy-looking designs that look at home in a gothic romance. But although Twisted-Wonderland is steeped in otaku culture, it's also deliberately designed to be the most accessible experience possible for non- otaku. You don't need to have played dozens of otome games to get the appeal of this, and I suspect that for many it will serve as a gateway to female otaku media when it comes out in English.Armor-Piercing Question: Tends to cut straight to the heart of the matter during their mirror visions, questioning why the villains acted the way they did. They own a device given by the headmaster called "Ghost Camera", a camera that is able to take a picture of anything possessing a soul. According to the headmaster, the pictures taken by the Ghost Camera is able to 'move' and is used by the people in the old days before video existed. In the more traditional sense, Yuu is technically this to Grim as they are put in charge of making sure Grim doesn't get into more trouble as well as Grim acting as the primary power source of the two. However, Grim greatly prefers to go to the beat of his own drum and views himself as the master and Yuu as his servant.

Promoted to Playable: Grim was originally a Story Mode-exclusive guest character, but he's finally an obtainable character in commemoration of the 1st year anniversary of Twisted Wonderland. Disney Twisted-Wonderland The Comic Episode of Heartslabyul 3. Square Enix . Retrieved March 25, 2023. Guest-Star Party Member: Can be called to aid in story battles, but only as a guest. This gets averted with his Anniversary cards. Moreover, as if navigating a new world wasn't challenging enough, Cozy Glow soon discovers that her past isn't as distant as she'd like to believe. Ghosts from Equestria begin to infiltrate her new reality, each one capable of derailing her grand ambitions. Meaningful Name: Her given name "Yuuka" (悠河), contains the kanji for "reason", "fragrance" and "flower".Nice Guy: Despite his intimidating appearance, he's not a bad guy and does what he can to help others.
