When I heard of GoT from other reviews it didn’t grab my attention at first and it was only when I was sent a copy from Brain Games themselves that I read through it and played it with the Thursday night boys. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like). There is always planning to do in Trains, and as long as you’re willing to pay there is little your opponents can do to get in the way of your plans. The real bummer is that these cards discard only the left most card, right most card, or middle card, so if you have managed to position a nice low numbered card in your first position, you better watch out that someone doesn't bugger the entire thing up. Some abilities allow you to switch cars in your train; some allow you to make all players (including you) replace one car in each own train with a random card from the deck; one ability allow you to gain protection from such random replacement.or Love Letter), but it is nice in the way it feels like you are playing a classic card game with a twist to bolster its appeal. Three players is not a problem and a good sweet spot for interacting with each other and playing time.

The only time you directly interfere with someone else’s line is with those ‘remove a card’ special effects, though being able to use those lock abilities to counter this is also pretty fun!Special powers include such actions as swapping two cards, moving a card, destroying everyone's cards, and so on. The rest of the cards are placed in a draw pile with some placed face-up to be used for their special abilities. Take a carriage card face-up in the centre of the play area and use its special ability to affect your (and potentially your opponents’) lines in some way. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Additional Lay Rails and Station Expansion cards are available for purchase during the game, but your starting Normal Trains are the only ones you’ll get (more powerful train cars are purchased during the game).
