Description

R1280db has a frequency response of 55Hz-20KHz, and R1280t has a frequency response of 75Hz-18KHz. They both produce reasonably clear and decent sound. Conclusion All of the knobs, buttons, inputs, and even the standard speaker-wire clamps all feel high quality—much more so than we’d expect at this price point. We can't speak to years of use, but the sound, controls, and physical integrity of the speakers all felt as great at the end of the week, as it did at the beginning. Silk dome tweeters with a diameter of 13mm produce high-frequency detail. Although the upper-end highs are quite thin, they are well-balanced.

If the Edifier R1280DBs’ elegant design, easy setup, multiple input options, and sub output aren’t enough to convince you, its solid performance will. The Edifier R1280 is a set of bookshelf speakers that maintains the right balance between its price and sound quality. Equipped with two AUX inputs, it allows you to easily connect your smartphone and have a better experience listening to songs. Also, the speakers have dual inputs to help you connect multiple sound sources simultaneously. In WandaVision, that Marvel opening sequence sounds punchier and more cinematic. Meanwhile, the voices in the show come out very clearly even though there’s no center channel. Everything else is also clear and well-balanced.

It allows you to compare the performances of different speakers before even laying your ears hands on them. The Edifier R1280T and R1280DB are very chic and good-looking bookshelf speakers. Each speaker has a matte top panel with grills made of removable gray cloth material. They feature wooden housing on both sides of the speaker.

The design and build quality of the speakers are similar, and if we compare the dimensions of the two, there is no difference in the length, depth, and height as well. Edifier is a well-respected speaker manufacturer recognized for its reasonably priced, high-quality speakers. There is a major difference between the R1280T and R1280DB speakers when it comes to connectivity options. The s-series speakers - R1280Ts and R1280DBs, on the other hand, feature an external subwoofer. But for engineering products like speakers? Personal tastes and preferences probably still play a role. But shouldn't it be less? At this point, I thought that if there was a tool that combined both the Spinorama with the room acoustics data, it'd be extremely useful. We combined Spinorama data with room acoustics and came up with Soundton. A very simple, 2D online tool that allows you to:This is a problem because it means that Spinorama alone, unfortunately, won't give us all we need. Placement and reflections play an equally important role there too. Got even more confused? Allow me to introduce you to Edifier R1280T and Edifier R1280Ts and compare them to find out the difference. It was the perfect high end audio product: Exotic, inefficient, expensive, unavailable, and toxic." Nelson Pass The Edifier R1280T and Edifier R1280Ts are the handiest speakers Edifier has ever invented. Their control knobs are placed at the side of the speakers and both of the speakers allow music lovers to adjust volume, bass, and treble according to their needs. What I found more convincing about Edifier R1280T and Edifier R1280Ts is that they come with remote control as well. You can adjust the volume, bass, and treble by the knobs or using a remote control, whichever is feasible for you. Since both of the speakers are equally easy to control, I can not call any speaker superior simply by judging the control. What surprised us is how well these speakers kept up during testing. We spent about a week with these going through our daily life. We put them through tests that ranged from our morning routine playing pump-up top 40 music to quiet, acoustic wind-down music at night. In our tests, we ran these at only about half volume which was more than enough to fill our apartment.

The Edifier R1280T, R1280s, and R1280DB are some of our favorite bookshelf speakers. We can easily say that they're some of the best bookshelf speakers on the market as they're quite affordable and produce great sound quality. So it’s time for the final decision, although the above story tells everything. Regarding design and sound quality, there is not much difference between both speakers.

Turning the bass too much causes some distortion, which marred the otherwise great highs and middle. In terms of bass, they're fine at moderate levels. Although the bass isn't loud enough to cover a large room, it's adequate for smaller spaces like dormitories, bedrooms, and workplaces. Each Edifier R1280T speaker is about 9.2 inches in height, 5.7 inches in width, and 7 inches deep. The two speakers attach via a detachable stereo cable, with the right one feeding power to the left one.

There is decent bass and clear treble on both, and the EQ panel allows you to adjust both. R1280T, however, seems to be more clear at high frequencies. Both feature a 4-inch bass and 13mm silk dome tweeter. However, their frequency response seemed different. Both the speakers are small and lightweight, making them one of the most compact bookshelf speakers currently available in the market. Sound Quality The retro look makes one think the speaker is multiple times the size it is. That said, I definitely appreciate the form factor as it is the largest I like to have for computer desktop use. I find the grill very attractive but to be a purist, I measured the R1280 without it and listened to it the same. Never got a chance to know what makes the Edifier R1280T different from Edifier R1280Ts? Well, in my view it’s certainly not the “s”. One of these two options can be an upgraded version of the previous version. Or even if an already existing speaker is not improved, one of them would surely be expensive and better performing. This is why Spinorama was apparently groundbreaking news for audio industry. Hence in the mid-late 2010's, most brands and magazines began publishing Spinorama measurements, despite the challenges of making such measurements. It's enormously important to understand that there is absolutely no possibility of having any pleasure in life at all without skill. Money doesn't buy pleasure ever."-Alan Watts The colormap provides you the locations with the best (green) and worst (red) listening experience.
