Lee Ermey, the voice of Sarge, in 2018. Toy Story 4 is the first Pixar film not to be accompanied by a short Pixar film since the original Toy Story (not counting Coco's later theatrical releases in which originally had the Frozen featurette Olaf's Frozen Adventure before the main feature). The next day, the toys, now residing at Bonnie's house as her new toys, receive a message from the daycare informing them that Sunnyside has become sunny once again. One of Molly's Barbie dolls has lasted up until this point, but Molly tosses her into a box bound for Sunnyside Daycare. Soon, Andy's toys sneak into the box, joining Barbie to go to Sunnyside as well, now that Andy is going to college. Mrs. Potato Head tries to comfort Barbie, who is crying about being abandoned by Molly. When Woody describes daycare as a sad, lonely place for toys who have no owners, she begins to bawl and sob hysterically. Even so, on a road trip to a carnival, Forky manages to break away and launch himself out of the moving vehicle, insisting he was made for "soup, salad, maybe chili, and then the trash" before he does so. Woody pursues Forky, catching up to him and the two head to the carnival to meet up with the RV. As they walk, Woody tells Forky all about his life with Andy and how great it is to be a toy (and especially a favorite toy), finally persuading Forky to accept his new role in Bonnie's life.

Gabby Gabby and Benson

He jumped up on the desk in the middle of us, there were glass windows - we were in the Pixar's Atrium - so everyone going past could see Keanu Reeves standing on the table posing. He was striking poses because he felt that's what Duke would do being a poseable action figure. Barbie was meant to appear in the first Toy Story film as Woody's girlfriend, in place of Bo Peep. However, Mattel would not allow the use of Barbie because they didn't want her to be given her personality (it was important to them that the girls who buy the toys would imagine what Barbie is like themselves, thus making the toy unique to each girl). Also, they didn't want to partake in a film with a troubled production. It was common knowledge that Disney had been unhappy with the original scripts of Toy Story for some time and Mattel was concerned about the effect it would have on sales. After Toy Story was a success, Mattel decided to put that policy aside and allowed her to appear in Toy Story 2, and also with her boyfriend Ken in Toy Story 3. Toy Story 4 is also the final Pixar film to feature the involvement of Lee Unkrich who left Pixar in 2019 to which he is credited as the Executive Producer. In 2004–06, Benson became the host and narrator of the children's Christian home video series called "Baby Faith", created by Integrity Publishers& FamilyTreeMedia.

Barbie later makes amends and reconciles with Ken, and the two reestablish their relationship, becoming boyfriend and girlfriend once again. Together, they revolutionize Sunnyside, turning the daycare into a true toy paradise for all toys, and become its new leaders. Under the couple's leadership, the daycare toys now rotate their time between the Butterfly Room and the Caterpillar Room, hold beach parties at the sandbox, and have discos in the Butterfly Room. The Pixar Image Computer can be seen during the part where Duke, Woody, and the gang chase Dragon the Cat during the chase scene. As a side note, the original Toy Story trilogy is considered as the most popular and loved Disney owned franchises in the Middle East, next to The Lion King, with all three movies dubbed in Egyptian Arabic the same years they were released. A reference to Pixar's next film, Onward is made; the bounce house has the same pattern as Barley's van, Guinevere.

Duke Caboom

With Bonnie, Bo Peep prepares to leave, causing Woody to become wistful. Knowing he will likely never be Bonnie's favorite, and with Buzz supporting him, Woody decides not to return to Bonnie and to instead depart with Bo on her mission to help lost toys get adopted by children. After an emotional farewell and hug with Bonnie's toys, the toys part ways. One year later, Woody and Bo are still together, following the moving carnival on their quest, and Bonnie (now in first grade) creates yet another utensil toy; Knifey. Forky welcomes the newcomer the same way he himself was welcomed a year before, though Knifey would rather be trash.
