Description

Before I was an inventor, I was a pet lover. Pets have always been an important part of our family, especially our cats. I also love Christmas, and for our family it is a special time for making cherished memories. But every year it was always something different. One year we took in a stray cat only to have it actually "nest" inside our Christmas tree for the entire holidays only coming out when we were not around. Another year, we were constantly worried about our ferret getting hurt by climbing so high in the tree. We tried all kinds of remedies, but nothing worked and Christmas became stressful in our attempts to keep our beloved pets safe. Sadly, one year we lost one of our dear cats from injuries she sustained in the Christmas tree. This is a question that many cat owners find themselves asking. After all, cats are notorious for their love of climbing – so why not trees? This is a question that many cat owners find themselves asking. After all, cats are natural climbers and they often see trees as a fun challenge to conquer. However, climbing trees can be dangerous for cats, so it’s important to find a way to keep them from doing it. I have 3 cats- one who was a new cat to my house last year and another new in this year. Last winter I was not sure how well the new cat would be around my tree- so I got The Christmas Tree Defender. I did not have any cats climbing in my tree!! This year we will see how it works against my newest cat!! The nice thing about this device is that you customize it to fit your tree!!! If you have cats that climb- get this device!!!! But make sure the twist ties have firm knots so your cat doesn’t steal them and runs away with them because chewing and swallowing them leads to digestive obstructions.

There are a few different types of barriers that feature spikes, and they can be very effective at deterring tree climbers. Just be sure that the spikes are not so sharp that they pose a danger to people or animals, and that they are securely attached to the tree. Don’t forget about the bottom of the fence. Although cats do not dig quite as aggressively as dogs, they will still play around in loose dirt, and they certainly will discover any low spots in the yard where they can crawl under a fence. It does not have to be a big hole. If your cat’s head fits into an opening, their body probably will too.Use a drill to make two holes on either side of the tree guard. These holes will be used to secure the tree guard to the tree trunk.

Wire mesh fencing should be 1.5m (5ft) tall for muntjac and 1.8m(6ft) for other deer, and a heavy duty type of wire like that used to fence sheep or pigs should be used in the lower half. The bottom edge should be pegged to the ground to stop deer lifting the wire and squeezing underneath. The maximum mesh size should be 20 x 15cm (8 x 6in) for most deer but 7.5 x 7.5cm (3 x 3in) where muntjac are a problem.Use tinsel sparingly. Tinsel can be dangerous if your cat swallows it, so use it sparingly or avoid it altogether. If you have an outdoor cat, you can put obstacles in place to prevent them from climbing where they shouldn’t. This could be something as simple as double-sided tape or an object that moves when they climb on it.
