Yes, it does work on the Foxsat HDR ....... the comments above were made when my HDR was actually recording, ergo many other functions were temporarily suspended. Select whichever of these you wish, then Edit the name and enter the LNB frequency, DiSEqC mode etc. The EPG is also superb, using an instantly accessible grid layout and excellent use of the remote keys to skip forward in time or switch to a List view. When you set something to record, it asks if you want to record the whole series or the single event, and if a programme is being simulcast in HD it asks which version you want to record. We were excited by the inclusion of BBC HD in the line-up of channels, as this was the first time free-to-air HD programming had been made available in the UK. For further opinions on the Freesat service, see our Humax Foxsat-HD review (What’s New, Shopper 247).

Over ethernet you do not specify how you are copying vis the share (smb) or ftp. I suspect ftp may handle multiple streams better. It is quite some time since I had a Foxsat but it was never that fast. And I don't think most of the "other Satellite" functions are activated until you've done a minimal (Single TP should do it!) Manual Tune on "freesat 28.2E" Upscaled standard-def picture quality depends on the channel, but more often than not it looks quite ropey. BBC One, for instance, looks fairly clean and sharp, but ITV1 and some of the music channels look soft and noisy. All of the channels suffer from a little pixel shimmering here and there and there’s some ringing around edges, but a lot of this is down to the quality of the original broadcasts and none of it really spoils your viewing experience anyway. Many thanks to you both guys. I have tried everything I can think of but still can't see any of files on any of the android devices.Yes I have the CF & nowsters patch successfully installed, as I can stream HD recordings via Windows laptop. I used to ftp for T2 in the past but didn't find it much improvement so at the moment all I am doing is copying and pasting from Foxsat to external usb 3 drive. Extremely slow I don't have a seperate subnet for WiFi and hard wired. I cannot connect my desktop PC to the Foxsat by cable as they are in diffferent rooms and I don't have an ethernet cable that long, the connection at present is using a tp-link Powerline kit. I could connect my laptop to the Foxsat by cable and see if that will connect.

Also if I use my smart tv to access to recordings I can find them under devices then foxsat but Sony's inbuilt video player plays only some of them, can't play some and some it just plays the video without any sound. Any idea what would cause that? HUMAX products use certain open source operating system software distributed pursuant to GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE Version 2 and GNU LESSER GENERAL LICENSE Version 2.1 each as defined and published by the Free Software Foundation, Inc. The Humax FOXSAT-HDR, uses a Linux operating system and the hard drive is formatted using the EXT2 file system. The display means, among other advantages, that the Humax becomes a useful radio tuner (for satellite radio, obviously), because you don't need to have the TV turned on to operate it. Of course, the Humax Foxsat-HDR isn't flawless. The 320GB hard-disk is now beaten for recording capacity by some rivals, and it's also one of the pricier models around (although the 'official' price can be usefully shaved down if you shop around). I did reboot the Foxsat after flashing the firmware, however I do not get the "Custom Fw v4.1.3" on the display after BOOT. I used version 4.1.3 to flash Picture quality is generally impressive but far from perfect. Hi-def broadcasts on the BBC HD channel look magnificent, boasting masses of detail and a wide range of rich, vibrant colours – best demonstrated by clips of the Beeb’s beautifully shot wildlife programmes. Movement is smooth with minimal pixel noise and clean edge definition helps the image look crisp and forceful at all times. In a direct comparison with a Sky HD box, there’s very little difference in quality between the two, making this a superb way of getting hi-def channels.

The signal strength and quality are high. If severe weather conditions or your location are affecting reception, for example, the software update should be postponed until signal strength and quality are favourable again. Just to prove it's OK I've just scanned the Tp on my Foxsat-HDR and it's 100% in HD, 1080i, DD, has the 4HD logo and is showing an upscaled Frasier So I am inclined to get it working again but wanted some advice about options. I am currently assuming although can't be sure that the PSU is faulty but cannot see obvious signs of damage. As for iPlayer content, obviously it's not as crisp as satellite-delivered HD, but it is surprisingly good – and it also adds considerably to the Foxsat-HDR's appeal. It's not cheap, but in this case, you definitely get what you pay for. My personal experience of Sony TVs is that the built in DLNA client is pretty poor. Perhaps the reason some play and some don't is related to the content of the recording. For example, maybe the Sony client can't play certain types of audio and can only play recordings with "simple" stereo audio. Select All or the value in the transponder list and press the OK button. If the required value is not available, select User Define and enter the transponder value directly. I have postulated that it may be possible to install an alternative PSU, but as I have not been afflicted by a fault such as this I have not spent the time that would be necessary to study the problem.
