Description

To taste the dry white wine emerges, with a complex yet delicate bitter finish laced with a touch of spice. Unique Selling Point: Selected Picpoul (60%) and Clairette (40%) wines are aged in ancient oak barrels in the open air, exposed to the wind, rain, sun, and sea-spray. You should also note that the picture images show only our serving suggestions of how to prepare your food - all table accessories and additional items and/or ingredients pictured with the product you are purchasing are not included. Noilly Prat is often used in cocktails, the most common and well-known of which is probably the martini, consisting of one part Noilly Prat to one or more parts gin or vodka, with a dash of orange bitters, twist of lemon, or olive garnish. The tasting experience begins with the nose – tones of cinnamon combine with balanced herbal, along with fresh green apple and floral notes. Among them Chamomile, Coriander from Morocco, Bitter Oranges from Tunisia, Cardamom from India, or Elderflower. With its complex blend of some of the world’s finest herbs and spices, being simply served over ice and with oysters will transport you to the South of France.

Some recipes substituted a vermouth from Dolin [ fr] instead of Noilly Prat for making martinis, [3] which is said to be "every bit as good as, although not by any means identical to, the old Noilly". I don’t drink wine on an everyday basis, and so I tend not to have an open bottle hanging about that I can use in cooking. Noilly Prat is produced in Marseillan, in the South of France, by the same methods since it was first created in 1813 by Louis Noilly. Please note, whilst the majority of parcels sent on this service are received next day, this is not guaranteed. This unique process is mainly based on the ageing in oak casks, in the open air, of white wines, exclusively "Blanc de Blancs".Before steamships wines were transported over long distances around the world by sail, barrels subjected to varying temperatures and humidity over many months giving them a unique character, in the age of steam, wines lost this character - faced with this Louis Noilly began to age his wines in the open air on land to recreate conditions on board a ship - this technique was so successful it is still used at Noilly Prat today. As for the taste itself, the finesse and delicacy of the white wines lead to a complex mouthfeel, with notes of elderflower and chamomile, dry fruits and citrus, along with a fine balance of spice and acidity.

This fantastic amber expression from Noilly Prat, is made in the same way as their classic original dry vermouth, but with the addition of botanicals such as cinnamon, cardamom and vanilla, this is a richer, sweeter and more full-bodied release.

It is the perfect blend of dry white wine and aromatic herbs, giving it a deliciously complex taste that really makes any drink incredible. However, in 2009, the extra-dry Noilly recipe exported to the USA was replaced by the original dry formula used worldwide. It may not be reproduced in any way whatsoever without Ocado Limited's prior consent, nor without due acknowledgement. It is, however, still very important that you let us know of any breakages once received so we can arrange replacement wine for you as quickly as possible.
