This Boarding Patrol box offers decent savings averaging 37% – except for the Aussies, who get a big boost in savings at 42%, which is a nice switcharoo considering previous Boarding Patrol boxes often offered lower savings for those in the Land Down Under. You are almost getting quite a chunk of the box for free, individual values considered. Boarding Patrol: Leagues of Votann – Contents

Vartijan Exo-drillers have comprehensive suites of sensor equipment, able to detect valuable seams of ore and hostile gangs alike. Add variety to your armoured spearheads with the Deimos Pattern Predator Support Tank. This kit has five deadly new turret options – a neutron blaster, a flamestorm cannon, a heavy conversion beam cannon, an executioner plasma destroyer, and a magna-melta cannon. Run them in squadrons to maximise a single type of weapon output, or mix and match to create a responsive threat. Cthonian Beserks: The little murder munchkins that could aren’t hitting quite as hard as they did on release in 9th edition. Their fight-on-death activates on a 4+ which makes it a lot less reliable, and Concussion Mauls don’t hit as reliably into hard targets now that toughness has scaled up and they’ve remained at strength 9. The Mole Launcher has some cute slowing effects but these only trigger on a 4+, and as you may have noticed, you’re already spending your life with this army trying to mitigate having to roll 4s as it is at the moment. I don’t think these are durable enough to cut it, though the fight-on-death does give you some kind of answer to Fight First at least. If you do run them, try them hopping out of Sagitaurs or Land Fortresses to break some heads. Equip your MkVI Space Marines with the iconography of the Death Guard with thematic sets of helmets and shoulder pads, giving a brutal, industrial feel to the smooth MkVI Corvus armour. Blood Angels MkVI UpgradesGreg Chamberlain – Leagues of Votann: Lots of Hearthguard, Sagitaurs and a Land Fort. Up the dwarves!!

Hernkyn Pioneers: S Tier: These guys provide mobility and better shooting than most expect, and are great for scoring positional secondaries like Engage on all Fronts. Their scout move coupled with their high movement speed lets them get in your opponent's face early in pressure builds, and they are tough enough to withstand most small arms, meaning your opponent will likely have to point real guns at them to remove them. Hailing from the Cthonian Mining Guild, Beserks are ferocious close combat fighters who load up with augmetics and charge headlong into combat, swinging brutal mining tools fashioned into weapons of war.* Sagitaur As you’ll soon discover, your Einhyr Hearthguard shrug off damage during even the worst of times. The combination of their Exo-armour ability and the faction-wide Void Armour will see to their safety. The toughest obstacles require a vehicle of tremendous power to break through, and the Hekaton Land Fortress serves with distinction. Festooned with weapons and capable of carrying a large number of troops, this impressive battle tank is a fearsome asset on the battlefield, dealing damage and soaking up punishment in equal measure.* Leagues of Votann Dice Set This year’s Warhammer Day miniature is an Einhyr Champion, representing the way decades old Warhammer lore has been reinterpreted by this brand new range of miniatures. A fitting champion for a classic range reborn.Ranchen Li – Leagues of Votann: A Votann build that can go all-in on transports and board presence as required, with the Hearthguard running in fives for Land Fort compatibility. Excellent. Brokhyr Thunderkyn: A Tier: I don't think I would take any weapon other than grav on these, and with grav they can do good work. Monsters are a bit of a problem for them potentially, but that's what judgment tokens are for. Customise your Mark VI Blood Angels Space Marines with these resin heads – nine helmeted, one bare head, and a swish haloed Sergeant’s helmet. Ciaphas Cain’s ninth adventure comes to audiobook for the first time, as the Hero of the Imperium faces down duplicitous T’au and voracious Tyranids on Quadravia, leading to some unexpected alliances. The Horus Heresy Collection VIII – French Edition

Armed with brutal close combat weapons, these juggernauts can tear through enemy lines easily, their mass driver accelerators shunting them into armoured foes like a living battering ram. Hearthkyn Warriors Sometimes, the best way to cut down Traitors is with a sword nearly as big as the Space Marine wielding it. Corswain is a legendary Dark Angels champion who wields his signature weapon – known simply as The Blade – with impeccable skill, and exemplifies the stalwart determination that his Legion is famed for. He’s also proper tasty in a fight. This spectacular resin model comes with a choice of hooded or helmed heads. Death Guard Legion Praetor

Transports, reserves, and Rapid Ingress are your friend: Dwarves are natural sprinters, very dangerous at a short distance. However, 40k boards cover considerable ground, and getting to the right place intact to affect the game is harder than ever in a very lethal shooting meta. Fortunately, you have tools to help you deal with this. Hearthguard can deep strike in to hit enemy weak spots, exploiting Rapid Ingress to land near to an exposed enemy point and march forward to take it in your own turn. Sagitaurs and Land Fortresses can ferry Warriors and Hearthguard to the frontlines. The scout move on the former is especially good for getting action monkeys into position for early game plays. Strategic reserves can also help some of our short-ranged units (like Grav-Cannon Thunderkyn) emerge near the right targets at the right times to light them up. Votann aren’t shooting or trading anything like as efficiently as some of their current foes, so you need to make sure every unit gets a decisive blow in somewhere to get value from it. Keep your army footprint small, exploit reserves and transports, and hit hard when the moment is right. This build is very similar to my own, which is reassuring. Also, look at that win! Over 30 point lead! Exceptionally tough exo-armoured warriors equipped with a mighty array of ranged and melee weapons, Einhyr Hearthguard are the unstoppable elite of the Leagues. Have them hold the line against all comers, or teleport them into the enemy’s weakest flank and watch them wreak havoc with a withering hail of fire, fists, and fusion blades. Cthonian Beserks Sagitaur: S Tier: It's a scout moving transport that also carries a good gun (not the MATR Autocannon though). There's a reason that Sagitaur Spam is becoming a common list archetype for the faction; they are very solid for the points. These near-mythical thinking machines are ancient, inscrutable, and senescent, and are dutifully attended by the Grimnyr – known to many as Living Ancestors. These blessed individuals split their time between communing with the Votann in venerated Fanes deep in Kinholds, or channelling their gestalt intelligence and skeinwrought power on the battlefield to empower the Kin and eradicate foes.

The Kinhost’s forges are tended by the Brôkhyr, a guild of master makers and menders. Iron-masters are the best of their kind, leading repair and recovery efforts on the battlefield aided by an entourage of Ironkyn and E-COG repair crews.* Brôkhyr Thunderkyn Einhyr Hearthguard: S Tier: Probably the best unit in the Votann lineup right now. They have very solid shooting that gets absolutely monstrous with the Ancestral Sentence stratagem, and their melee is decent as well, if not as good as other armies' dedicated melee beaters (i.e. Deathwing Knights). Having only 2 wounds is definitely their biggest weakness.

Hearthkyn form the rank and file of a Kinhost , clad in durable void armour and laying down storms of fire from bolt and ion weaponry. They’re an essential part of any Leagues of Votann force, forming squads of up to 20 warriors for the ultimate in objective defence.* Hernkyn Pioneers Selected from the most accomplished fighters in a Kinhold, the Einhyr Hearthguard have many roles – from bodyguards to deadly first-strike troops. Each Hearthguard has proved themselves over many years of front-line combat, ascending purely by the virtue of their deeds, just as the staunch meritocracy of the Leagues requires.
