I was excited to read about new technology used in Avatar 2: 48fps with dynamic judder during editing. I saw it in theatres, and I was amazed. The Troupe – Avatar's Troupe is the Swiss Army Knife of acting, while playing dozens of roles on set, in the performance capture volume and on live-action sets, they bring life to Na'vi clans and RDA Recoms. They also play Na'vi-scale puppets on the live-action sets. The New Characters of Pandora– Meet the important new characters of the Avatar saga played by Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco, Brendan Cowell and Jemaine Clement. As typically happens on groundbreaking productions, new effects technology had to be invented to do everything necessary. And while even 2.5 hours isn’t enough to explain everything, it’s plenty to impress. See motion capture evolve into final animation, and watch motorized creature stand-ins drag the actors around underwater at high speeds. Viewers can even catch a sneak-peek at sequel designs for Pandora’s deserts, volcanoes, and arctic areas. An Avatar Attraction Is Coming to Disneyland in California The massive format is a great way to see Avatar: The Way of Water. The scale of the screen absolutely enhances the experience of being transported to the beautiful waters of Pandora. But it’s not strictly necessary, and holding out for IMAX won’t affect your experience as much as anything else on this list. Should I see Avatar 2 in 3D?

Building the World of Pandora – James Cameron and a team of talented artists combine years of research with their design skills to build the world of Pandora with new characters, creatures, indigenous clans, underwater environments and the take-no-prisoners hard-tech world of the RDA. Casting– Discover the screen tests that won the talented young cast their roles in Avatar: The Way of Water. The Reef People of Pandora– In true James Cameron-style, the Metkayina reef clan has been developed with great attention to detail, bearing unique evolutionary traits and a culture – with new dwellings, new clothes and different way of life – all a result of living off the ocean. Director James Cameron shared a statement in tandem with the announcement, thanking audiences who watched the movie in theaters and expressing his hopes that viewers at home still watch it on the biggest screen that they can: Bringing Pandora to Life– Once James Cameron completes his virtual production process, every sequence is turned over to Wētā FX to bring Pandora to life – with unprecedented advancements in facial performance, environments and making CG water look real. The company’s press release also curiously doesn’t mention high dynamic range support, Dolby Vision or otherwise, for the digital Avatar: The Way of Water that will go on sale later this month. New Zealand: Pandora’s Home – The production of the Avatar sequels is so thoroughly ensconced in New Zealand that James Cameron considers The Way of Water a “New Zealand film.” Hear reflections from the cast and crew, including the remarkable New Zealand crew, on making the film. The sequel to James Cameron’s 2009’s Avatar, starring Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldañawas released digitally via all the major VOD stores in the UK on April 4, 2023. UPDATE 5/22/23 – Avatar: The Way of Water makes its long-awaited debut on 4K UHD, Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD and the original Avatar arrives for the first time on 4K UHD in High Dynamic Range to digital retailers and on Blu-ray disc on June 20, 202. Building the World of Pandora– James Cameron and a team of talented artists combine years of research with their design skills to build the world of Pandora with new characters, creatures, indigenous clans, underwater environments and the take-no-prisoners hard-tech world of the RDA. The Undersea World of Pandora – Co-production designer Dylan Cole and his team conceive of the marine creatures required for Avatar: The Way of Water while James Cameron and his stunt team devise extraordinary means to bring those creatures to life in a performance capture tank. both a general detail and palette perspective, this is more often than not a breathtaking viewing experience, with palpable levels of fine detail suffusingAn Avatar: The Way of Water with no 3D, no motion-graded HFR, and possibly even no HDR – is that even worth watching at all? Many people did see the Avatar sequel in theaters without those cinematic extras (the The Hollywood Reporter post noted that there were a “whopping 1,065 unique delivery versions of the movie,” with “combinations of 2D, 3D, HDR, 4K, varying light levels, aspect ratios, a high frame rate of 48 frames per second, a range of audio formats”). But there’s a big difference between viewing movies in theaters and at home. I will ab-so-LUTELY wait for the Blu Ray release before going to a theatre to watch this! I’ve got a great home theatre system. This movie is over 3 hours long (well, 3 hours & 12 minutes… the S.S. Minnow was only a three hour tour, a threeee hour toooour!) At home, I can pause for bathroom break, grab a drink, get some munchies, or get up & stretch without missing a thing. PLUS….no annoying people right in front of me lighting up the entire theatre with their cellphone which chimes away every 5 or 6 seconds, them talking to each other non-stop, being a complete @ss of themselves (you know…because the world revolves around THEM!) just ruining it for everyone there. Ushers in theatres just don’t exist anymore, so don’t think I can just up & go get someone to quiet them down. BEHAVE YOURSELF, CHILDREN! Yes, the 20 somethings…I’m talking to you! Grow up & learn that the world revolves around others, not just you! That being said, 4DX works best as a second-time viewing experience, should you decide to return to Pandora. If you opt for the immersive format the first time out, you may lose a plot detail or two to the water drops accumulating on your 3D glasses. But by the second viewing, it all just adds to the movie’s overall sense of massive theme-park excitement. How do I make sure I’m seeing the right version of Avatar 2? IMAX and Dolby Cinema theaters excepted, a typical movie venue puts out a significantly dimmer image than what a recent-model TV is capable of. On such dim screens, the judder artifacts that accompany films shot at 24 frames-per-second, something that HFR serves to reduce, will be less noticeable. over ten years after the first Avatar (something that seems positively mindboggling), there are copious examples of just how far

and joking qualm aside, I haven't had that many viewing experiences in my now long reviewing life where I've literally been left breathless by some of Casting – Discover the screen tests that won the talented young cast their roles in Avatar: The Way of Water. It is available in Ultra HD (4K), and also supports Dolby Atmos audio (as long as you have compatible equipment). As expected, the Disney home video release will be in 4K Ultra HD with Dolby Atmos, meaning it should look and sound great when viewed on the best TVs and best soundbars. But will it really look great? That’s something I’ve been wondering following the Disney announcement, which didn’t confirm any release date for a 4K Blu-ray version of the movie.
