A Winter's Promise Book One of The Mirror Visitor Quartet". Europa Editions . Retrieved 18 June 2019.

Overall despite all the things left unsaid I really liked the book, all the journey, thought it was a really fun ride, loved Ophelia and Thorn, and the world building was super creative so I will 100% recomend the series Though this book did feel a little bit like a filler, the ending set up some questions to leave readers grasping for the next book and UGH I just need it. And filler or no, I found the mystery really interesting and I just love these books so it’s not like I could ever find them boring. Whilst it probably is closer to 4 stars, the way this world and these characters occupy my mind makes me bump it up just that little bit more.I don't know about you, but I get used to annoyances. I do not "get used" to people I love. REALLY GIRL. Thorn is the taciturn fiancé of Ophélie and the Intendant of the Citacielle. A misanthrope, misogynist and maniac, he is a man of the

I really enjoyed this book, whipping through it in a couple of sessions. Christelle Dabos weaves an amazing tale, through rich settings and characters This is the first book in The Mirror Visitor series, and I'll definitely be on the lookout for the rest of the series as they become available. A first rate fantasy book.

From the book

Berenilde is the aunt of Thorn and a favorite of Farouk, not to say the queen of the favorites. She is as soft as her nephew is tough, but beware of what is hiding behind her wonderful smile. La Passe-miroir ", le succès transgénérationnel de Christelle Dabos". Le Monde.fr (in French) . Retrieved 27 April 2018. La passe-miroir" de Christelle Dabos, lauréat du premier roman jeunesse". RTL.fr (in French). Archived from the original on 28 April 2018 . Retrieved 27 April 2018. All the characters are caricatural and this is a shame because the world had potential, but the characters (and the fact that NOTHING HAPPENS) completely spoiled my read.

I come to appreciate Ophelia's godmother as much as she does, when she continually is outraged for her nieces sake! Les fiancés de l'hiver, Gallimard Jeunesse, Collection Hors Série, 528p, 2013, ( ISBN 9782070653768) Edit rilettura 17/10/2019: in ritardo ovviamente perché sono pessima a ricordarmi di usare Goodreads.Let me start by saying that my two parts won't be sole translations : first because translating bores me to death, and secondly because given the fact that Les Fiancés de l'hiver is a French book, I just don't see the point in rambling in English about it. Psychometry: Ophelia can, by touching objects with her hands, read her past and know all the details. However, this power has its limits, it cannot read organic or raw matter, nor the distant past. This power explains why she constantly wears gloves woven with a material that can filter her power, otherwise she reads all the objects she touches. One of the things I really appreciate about A Winter's Promise as a writer as well as a reader is her characters! Very enhanced memory: After her marriage to Thorn, Ophélie gained a much improved memory allowing her to feel the past of a writer, Eulalie Dilleux.
