Description

William had his script well prepared, but was immediately thrown off course by HRH’s first question. They had finally caught up with their old nemesis in Barcelona and dragged him back to Belmarsh prison – the same prison Faulkner had escaped from the year before. A backdrop of colourful characters, including his remarkable wife Beth, The Hawk, his boss, Inspector Ross Hogan, his closest friend, and often the cause and sometimes the solutions of his problems, Princess Diana, The Crown, and Miles Faulkner, a brilliant and resourceful criminal who dogs his path and chance of promotion at every opportunity. All the while, one of Warwick’s old nemeses is working through some legal issues all his own, wrestling for control as he seeks to get the upper hand on Scotland Yard. What a fantastic book, Jeffrey Archer brings back William Warwick for his fifth instalment in the fabulous Next in Line.

Warwick's number two, Inspector Ross Hogan, becomes the lead protection officer to HRH Princess of Wales, Diana and it was interesting to read this fictionalized account of the challenge of protecting someone so famous, beloved and high spirited. I was anticipating reading a book about The Royalty Protection Command and what might have been involved with protecting a princess who had a mind of her own . Many thanks to Harper 360/HarperCollins for the opportunity to read Next in Line in advance of its publication. My pleasure, ma’am,’ said Sir Peter, before turning to the welcoming party of senior officers who were waiting in line. Running parallel to this is the story of a jailed criminal with an interest in fine art, and a private collection that would make many green with envy. However, this academic feat was not without claims that he was actually never registered as an undergraduate student in this College.

The reader is able to re-live the story in his mind simply because a book has captured the life out of the story. They were rescued by the museum’s curator, who stepped forward and said, ‘Gwynne Evans and Peter Allen, ma’am, were hanged for the murder of John Alan West on the thirteenth of August, 1964. Sharing in her father’s ideals, she develops the dream of becoming the first US female president which she eventually becomes. This one's not a case of determining which one is the "bad guy," but rather which one will end up outfoxing the others. I’ve read the entire series but the author is getting too repetitive by recycling the same characters with each new episode.I have no real inclination for anything royalty related so went into this novel with lowered anticipation.

Royal fever sweeps the nation as Britain falls in love with the ‘people’s princess’ HRH Diana, Princess of Wales. I get the impression that it is better to read this series from the beginning to understand the significance of some of the secondary characters, such as the escaped prisoner, Miles Faulkner. He had an eventful political career amidst allegations of fraud and much apprehension at his ability to be a leader. of course most of it is fictional, but resemblances cannot be denied , that makes the story surreal.
