Things were actually worst for women. The whole "Parfum" line, Acenti, Flora, Gucci by Gucci, and so on... It starts out with a nondescript, acidic, distant, sharp but pleasant citrus note. It finishes off with a nose-tingling breeze of woody-amber molecules (ambrocenide, norlimbanol perhaps). Through the duration of the fragrance, there is a very mild and lovely aquatic presence, perhaps calone or cascalone. Normally calone disgusts me, but here it works so well!! I cannot detect the white musk... I could perhaps be anosmic to it, or it's just carefully hidden, or very transparent. My girlfriend loves this fragrance from the opening notes right through to the drydown, she believes it's works with my natural chemistry very well and smells "amazing" after a day at work which can only be a positive. I get a reasonable amount of compliments when wearing this at the office or in social situations and have been asked twice by other female commuters when in close proximity to them on the train what fragrance I was wearing. it does kind of remind me of Chanel edition blanche sport extreme, but that one is better than this.

So, I bought this because I had a sample of it a while ago, and loved it. I know this has a lot of hate, but it's really not so bad. However....How..Ever..I found something that smells EXACTLY like this, and it is a 4 dollar body spray in like a 5 oz plastic bottle, and having smelled that seems to have turned me off to Gucci Guilty.

I got this as a gift. I must admit I was reluctant to put this on reading the name. I expected something super punchy in your face, full of patchouli and dirt, sweat etc. So I went online to read the notes. The notes made me feel a bit more assured that this won’t be the case but I was still nervous to try this on because of the pink pepper. I was sure I’d get a headache or that I’ll want to immediately scrub this off when I tried it on my skin…but…wait a minute… Guilty is a predominantly lilac fragrance on me, with a bit of spice from the pink pepper and some mild, fruity, nectar like undertones from the peach, theres also a bit of powdery musk similar to the musk used in Narciso Rodriguez For Her. It reminds me a little bit of how make-up smells actually, but in a good way.

Apparently, this was not run for very long. I get real curious when a fragrance is met with 'we don't get it' . Dump it, 'it aint sellin'. I just have to move in for the sniff. I like prospecting. I'm getting real good at it, but had to waste some money at first. So many comments here ask about the hate on this line of fragrance. So let me explain why the community has a bit of beef with Gucci in general. It opens super aromatically, which actually made me balk a little. Not in a bad way, but it actually has a masculine tone with the brisk nature of lilac, pepper and whatever citruses are here. Yet...as it fades a bit and settles into the heart, it becomes more obviously floral in nature. Still, the lilac is more femme, but it contends with the pepper...I think this is easily unisex (who cares, wear what you want anyway).

I learned alot. Patchouli leaves--wow. Heliotrope--luxe.... doll. Violet--not all the same. Juniper Berries--where the big boys screw it up but not this one. I decided to sample this EDT just for fun and I'm really glad I did - I don't understand why this one gets hate in the frag community either, although I'm pretty sure that is slowly changing for Gucci Guilty. This scent is remarkably successful in attaining two goals: First off, it has a certain bulk to the fragrance cloud as well as a bright aspect. Also the Violet is so nice and the Heliotrope is like a really satisfying confection or pastry. I think the Heliotrope adds the "bulk". i run my own business so i have no idea about office scents, but this would almost be it i guess. the problem is that its overpowering in a synthetic way. and ive smelt this on people before, and it never really fit them. its too soapy and constantly gives me the axe wibe, or way too much scented fabric softener. Scent: This smells divine, and I have received more compliments on this in the week I’ve worn it than any I can remember. My favorite part is the opening. This opens up fresh and invigorating and drys down into a warm scent(not sweet) perfect for fall or spring. Could also be great for dates or with enough sprays, worn in winter. Probably too warm in the dry down for summer. My wife’s new favorite scent for me to wear!

I can't stand Allure Homme sport EE (Powdery & childish I don't get it Blanche is better) - yet I love Versace PH. Versace PH can get boring sometimes though. This is a happy medium between the two; this is sort of like the balanced Versace PH yet take some amplified pepper and lavender all the while making it still balanced and sexy. Guilty opens on my skin with a clean, positive, uplifting, citrusy and a bit peppery lavender with the tender trace of slightly floral orange blossom. The best part of this fragrance is the opening.I wish it would last longer. It does give a fresh vibe when you wear it, but don't think about citrus or floral or herbal freshness, it is a... well, metallic freshness for me. Just try this and you will smell it too. Secondly, this scent in final dry down offers a real delicate interpretation of musk and a much brighter Patchouli that fools my nose. I saw it in the notes, I did not detect it. So light. . . must be the leaves. it smells like cheap cologne. i would not be surprised if anyone told me it was axe. but hey, axe smells kinda good and masculine, and so does this. The fragrance is dominated by a strong, long lasting "gunpowder" accord that I can only describe as extremely powdery, dry, green, sharp, fresh, slightly sulfurous, smooth, and balanced. This might be the "heliotrope, violet and cypress". I'm guessing the heliotrope + violet is a ton of ionones (alpha ionone anyone?) and some irones and heliotropin, somehow dried to a crisp with other aromachems. The cypress note might be a microdose of some sulfurous aromachem? The Alaskan Cypress Oil I own definitely has sulfurous top notes, so this is appropriate. Anyway, it's a really nice and unique aroma that is linear and lasts. This is a dupe of Gucci by Gucci but there are similarities with dewy, sweet florals and the Gucci DNA. Sotoor Seen gets a lot sweeter in the drydown with honey, although it has a similarly slow unfolding. Both have excellent performance, but Sotoor Seen has beast mode once it gets going and can work up to a cloying sweetness if oversprayed.

In summary, silvery lavender and silvery woods, ethereal orange blossom with hints of smoke, honey, patchouli and dry white tobacco. The late drydown smells of the white tobacco with a bit of vanilla. Allow me to start with the positives here this is not just a cookie cutter, eau de cologne freshie. Nor is it the ultimately bland aroma chemical mess of a eros or Invictus, some small merciful praise can be bestowed upon Gucci Guilty Cologne for this fact. Gucci writes: lilac, patchouli and rich amber. Indulge in GUILTY PLEASURES. Discover the scent of defiance. I’m a Gucci clothes fan-well, who isn’t? They are one of the most creative, fun, long lasting reinventive (if that’s a word) Houses out there. Gucci Guilty has been around a long time, but for some reason, this scent missed my notice. But-I have organized my little sample bottles, well over 100, and put them in a place I can read off a list and go straight to one I want to try immediately. Today it’s Guilty. If this DNA gets popular and people accept it, I am sure many other houses will go this way in the future.

Creativity at its best, surprising both from Morillas (a perfumer that used to be more focused on commercial success than creativity in the last 15-20 years), as well as from Gucci (who recently got out of a 10-year creative desert with Gucci Guilty Absolute.... inspired, if not copied from Terenzi's Ursa, but that's a different discussion...) There is something else very nostalgic about this scent. It reminds me of a very grown-up version of a similar (although, not as well done) smelling body-spray that I wore as a teenager, whose name I don't even remotely remember, that my father probably bought me at Target. But GG buttons it up, and makes it adult-appropriate, instead of juvenile. the only real scenario where i can use this is at the gym. and even there, its just so f***ing boring. i will never buy this again as there are so many fragrances that are better in every single way than this. I don't think this smells generic. Bleu De Chanel has become the Generic smelling cologne for me because there are so many that smell like it, Jimmy Choo, Acqua Essenziale, Sauvage etc. This one doesn't smell like Bleu De Chanel, so cross that "generic" description off the list. It smells really good, like almost fruity, but sexy. I have a yuuuge collection and I don't have anything that smells as close to this as all the previously mentioned one's smell to Bleu De Chanel. Seriously, this is a unique fragrance, unless you are comparing it to Gucci Guilty Intense which is supposed to smell like it. This stuff smells good, maybe familiar, but it is original.
