It is certainly very rich, dense and fashioned in the Arabian style and not for the faint of heart. To put it lightly, I HAAAATE the 540 dossier dupe. If the dossier fragrance is what 540 even remotely smells like, then I don't want it. To me,the dossier version smells like you're sitting in a clean dentists office, and you get whiffs of someone who's been smoking. It's disgusting. It smells dusty, medicinal and ashy.

It qualified as a unisex fragrance but I really think that it leans more toward the masculine side.The reason I'm giving it a love is that although it's not groundbreaking, it has an extremely attractive price point for a larger audience - especially those that don't like more traditional our fragrances. Extreme versatility with a brilliant sillage. This is definitely a woody, fresh aquatic, with a hint of fruits. I feel like,if you like aftershave smells/shaving cream,you'd really enjoy this one. This would be amazinggg in summer/spring. The smell that whaffs in the air is just wonderful. In my opinion, this would definitely suit a man better than a woman. I have been avoiding Arabian Oud scents, since I am from the middle east and it smells like every mosque ever. But one day, I wanted to get something that had Oud in it and thought Lattafa will be a good way to start since they’re affordable, right? I got this a week ago, and let me tell you I can’t stop wearing it ever since! I don’t if it’s bec it’s winter, or am I really starting to like middle eastern scents and it’s my new thing maybe, but this is really amazing and worth the try! All in all - I love it. It's very pleasant (after the first 10 minutes) and comforting. I recommend it as unisex. It is obviously a sweet and oudy scent so not a typical summer choice but I'll wear it any season as it's not chokingly sweet or intoxicating. this is definitely one of them! I've even gotten quite a few compliments saying how I smell "rich". to me, this starts off a bit synthetic and confusing, but just a bit later you get a lovely blast of florals, oud, and sweet yet rich caramel. to my nose, the incense and smokiness only start to come through after a few hours.

Opulent Red - The most unique and most strange. It doesn't smell like anything I own. Least safe blind buy. When I used it for the first time, I hated it. Only I got was aromatic scents with harsh wood which bothered me a lot. I waited till night with no change.

Anyway, I have many bottles of SAS , but had I realised they changed the perfume, I would prefer this one. I find the sweetness is gone after the dry down. I’m gonna play with this one for a while because it’s a nice scent. But people around you and yourself won’t really smell that saffron too much. The musk, amber and resin are really sweet and outdo the saffron a lot when you smell this perfume out of the air, which is what you’ll be doing, when you are wearing it and as it creates a scent bubble. I prefer this in heaps to Shaghaf because it's not too linear, it doesn't overwhelm, and you don't have to wash your clothes to apply another fragrance. As for season, I'd say any fragrance this strong is for cold weather. However, while making dinner, I noticed the smell change quite a bit with the heat of cooking. The rose and amber reactivated. Considering Lattafa is based in the UAE, a place which stays quite warm throughout the year, I don't think they'd make a fragrance you can't wear in hot weather.

I get completely different notes than what's listed albeit similar to some folks further down below. Like all my Lattafas, I'll let this one rest as well for a few weeks and then will test it again in the fall on both of our skins. I'm hoping it will be less sweet and suffocating in cooler weather and the cinnamon will be less dominant. However, I never expected to like this at all! I like the blend of oud, vanilla for sweetness, rose and warm spice. This is one fragrance where I can smell each note individually and also as a whole. Although, the incense still throws me off a tiny bit. As time goes by,he becomes slightly smoky and musky,more woody and with a strong presence of vanilla and sandalwood.
