This friends to lovers trope with a side of love unrequited was such a page turner it kept me awake all night when pulling an all nighter became such a rarity for me. My only regret was not reading both books back to back because there were moments that I wondered how close these two characters came to finding each other throughout the book. And the fact that this book made that glorified pamphlet of foot fetishizing have to come into creation is reason enough to one star it. While the first book felt dreamy and romantic- this book crushed that by just feeling stale and realistic (yes, I know this is a contemporary and meant to be realistic. There are lots of reasons that he behaves as he did for the events of Just One Day, and seeing him recognize his motivations, face his demons, and overcome the stings of his past made this book so satisfying as a reader. Their awkward beginning quickly turns into a close friendship that eventually sparks into a powerful attraction that Caleb is fiercely opposed to pursuing because he’d never willingly break Teagan’s heart.
