I understand it's meant to evoke handwritten notes, but I shouldn't have to squint to understand what was written. Teresa has missed out on her chance at student housing, and before the day is out she has moved into Ruben’s dingy squat -- only temporarily, of course, but somehow, time passes, and she never leaves.

Parts of this, then, I really liked, like the view of punk Berlin and the look at the excavation (in particular, I loved the way the tomb map repeats throughout the story, getting more detailed as the excavation team learns more). With the graphic novel Cinquemila chilometri al secondo (Coconino press, 2010) he won the Fauve d’Or award at the Angoulême Festival 2011. I think they were meant to show that Teresa's and Reubens's relationship is mostly physical in the beginning, but it felt like it was tossed in just to add drama.

Thus the story finds itself a reflection on that which is clear and direct and that which is abstract and perceptual. No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, no underlining or highlighting of text, and no writing in the margins. But I don't really understand Teresa and Ruben, both of whom do get something akin to personality grafts near the end of the book, and whose relationship seems largely based on (quite explicit) sex.

I will also say that the random German and Spanish being thrown in, with no translation on the bottom of the page, was very aggravating.

However, it wasn't clear what that significance was, and for me, it felt like the use of this major world event in the plot was rather arbitrary and a bit voyeuristic. His most recent graphic novels The Interview, 5,000 KM Per Second and Celestia have been translated in English by Fantagraphics. If the processing is for other purposes, you have the right to object only if there are reasons arising from your particular situation. Hypericon’ with story and art by Manuele Fior is a graphic novel that takes place in two distinct times and is distinctly linked.
