Witnesses have reported a wide range of sizes when encountering shadow people. Some describe them as small, childlike figures, while others depict towering entities that dwarf human stature. The size and height variations suggest that there may be different types or manifestations of shadow people. Shadow people continue to be an enigma, fascinating believers and skeptics alike. Their existence is steeped in history, origin myths, and a plethora of personal testimonies. While the truth behind shadow people remains elusive, their impact on popular culture cannot be denied. Whether viewed as harbingers of doom or as otherworldly entities, shadow people’s enduring presence in our collective imagination ensures that they will continue to intrigue and inspire awe in those who dare to explore the unknown. Although shadow people are often described as ghost shadows or ghost people, the truth is that they seem to behave in an entirely different way to other spirit phenomena. Orbs, ectoplasm and the like are rarely ever seen around these shadow “ghosts”, although they’re seen very commonly around areas of other ghostly and spiritual activity. It seems that shadow people are seen alone, and act alone, which lends credence to the theories that they may be beings from another interdimensional plane, aliens, time travellers or even something that we’re not entirely sure how to define. Human Shaped Shadow People: These shadow people are in human shaped and most commonly experienced by many. A human shaped shadow person comes in variety of combinations such as with or without hat, having red or green eyes, hooded figures, etc. Most people who experience this phenomenon say that these shadow figures are used to be seen out of the corner of their eyes and disappears as they look straight into them. But, more and more people have also experienced looking straight to them for longer periods of time. Some people even witnessed seeing eyes, usually red or green in color, and also shadows wearing a hat and named as “Hat Man”.

In another theory, it is stated as these shadow figures are the shadows of people who are having out-of-body experiences or astral projection. Astral projection refers to an out-of-body-experience (OBE) occurs when a person’s consciousness leaves the physical body and travels to the astral plane. It is the ability to separate your awareness from the physical body. This often occurs during sleep. So, this theory says that may be we are seeing these astral bodies for a short time. A shadow figure has many theories and definitions, but it is commonly described as a perception of shadow of a tall figure, about seven feet in height and a human-like form. From the scientific view, it is simply our imagination where our minds fill the blank spaces and create a humanoid form. Encounters with shadow people often evoke strong emotions in witnesses. Many individuals report feeling an overwhelming sense of dread, fear, or unease in the presence of these entities. The intense emotional impact adds to the belief that shadow people are not mere figments of imagination.

It’s also important to consider that most shadow person sightings appear in our peripheral vision, which is designed to detect motion and movement, not detail. That said, it would be easier to mistake something in the corner of our eye for something it isn’t than it would be if we were to see something head-on. What To Do If You See A Shadow Person When a shadow figure is a benign one, you know it. You feel it. This shadow figure won’t scare you, but it can make you feel supported and protected. I think there is a benign shadow figure around me. What should I do? But are all the cases of shadow figures are only because of our minds imagination? We do not know. May be the answer lies beyond science and may be they are real as discussed in above theories. How to Protect From Shadow Figures? Several physiological and psychological conditions can account for reported experiences of shadowy shapes seeming alive. A sleep paralysis sufferer may perceive a "shadowy or indistinct shape" approaching them when they lie awake paralyzed and become increasingly alarmed. [13] Asian Mythologies: In Asian mythologies, shadow people are often associated with supernatural abilities and the realm of the yin and yang. They are believed to possess magical powers and are associated with darkness and mystery. Shadow figures, known as “Kage-Oni” in Japanese folklore, are depicted as malevolent spirits that bring misfortune and chaos.

The Issue of Sleep Paralysis

Our loved ones can make themselves felt in crucial moments of our existence, as positive (marriages, births, job changes) as negative (existential crises, depression, sudden changes), to encourage us. Significant signs and coincidences will indicate their presence. Many types of shadow figures are studied in the paranormal subject, but here we will look into the common types that most people experience. Shadow puppetry is a popular form of entertainment in countries all over the world. China, India, Indonesia and Turkey have been especially important in the development of this art form over time.
