Thanks to netgalley the author and publishers for the advanced digital copy in exchange for my fair and honest review. What follows is a race against time to find Milo before something terrible happens and uncover a chaos of lies and deceit that leads Marissa to question everything and everyone she knows. There are some very odd dynamics in the book which do lead you down a certain path of suspicions and the odd red herring deceives you somewhat! The twist was intricately woven into the storyline, but so cleverly done that I didn't see it coming at all. All Her Fault by Andrea Mara is published with Bantam Press/Transworld and is described as ‘an explosive and twisty thriller’.

I honestly thought I had a vague idea why but even when the biggest clue was dropped I didn't even pick up on it. With a genuinely terrifying opening, fans of Big Little Lies will enjoy this slice of twisty domestic noir with a distinct south Dublin flavour. Immediately compelling, All Her Fault explores every mother's worst nightmare and delivers deftly original twists.

Four women in a close-knit community are thrust into the harsh spotlight when a young child goes missing, in this explosive and twisty top ten Sunday Times bestseller from Andrea Mara. An arrangement had been made via text messaging with Jenny, another mother from the school but when Marissa arrived at the address to collect Milo, he wasn’t there. As news of the disappearance spreads through the quiet suburbs of Dublin and an unexpected suspect is named, rumors spread about the women most closely linked to the shocking event.

All Her Fault is Andrea Mara’s UK debut and, although her books are very much based in an Irish setting, the subject matter could be anywhere.A fantastic, immersive read, proving that people behaving badly really do make for the best company! Plenty of finger pointing and whispering surrounds Marissa as the once friendly neighbours begin to gossip and churn out possible scenarios. There’s a trail of destruction, some HUGE secrets and ginormous lies which makes you wonder how some people live with themselves.

As the book progressed, and more people got introduced, I found it a little confusing and lost the thread of the story at times, which slowed down my progress somewhat. I felt I couldn’t trust any of the characters, and it seemed as though they were all keeping secrets. It isn’t clear what the kidnapper’s motive is, and they soon find out that she knows dangerous people. Jenny is feeling guilty as it is her nanny who is to blame and the local gossip mongers are vicious in their assessment that Jenny didn’t do her due diligence in choosing this nanny even though she did. Mara's stunningly original plot has its roots in the powerful emotions aroused by motherhood, leading to heartbreak and murder. As the police investigate Milo’s disappearance, it’s suspected that his friend’s nanny has taken him. Gripping and real, with a whole host of flawed characters, it explores motherhood, relationships and friendship in a twisted unravelling of every parent's worst nightmare. Choosing the appropriate childcare is vital to any parent but, although Marissa did everything expected, Milo still went missing. Marissa Irvine believes her son Milo is on a post school playdate with Jenny’s son Jacob and duly arrives at 14 Tudor Grove to collect him only to find the front door opened by a complete stranger.
