Description

Except trouble is never far away where the Thursday Murder Club are concerned. A decade-old cold case leads them to a local news legend and a murder with no body and no answers. What sets Osman's novels apart is their ability to appeal to a wide range of readers. The mystery aspect will keep fans of the genre engaged, while the humour and heart of the story make it accessible to those who may not typically be drawn to thrillers. The fact that the characters are all retirees only adds to the charm of the novels, as they bring a perspective and wisdom that is often missing from more traditional detective stories. In a peaceful retirement village, four unlikely friends meet up once a week to investigate unsolved murders.

Opening the new Osman is like sitting down to dinner with treasured friends you know are going to kill you - deliciously!' PETER JAMES Osman's success as an author has been somewhat surprising, as he has never written a novel before. However, his natural storytelling ability and clever sense of humour have made him a favourite among readers. His novels have been praised for their relatable characters, engaging plotlines, and witty dialogue. THE FIRST NOVEL IN THE RECORD-BREAKING, MILLION-COPY BESTSELLING THURSDAY MURDER CLUB SERIES BY RICHARD OSMANOsman is also known for his philanthropic work, particularly his support of the charity Comic Relief. He has hosted numerous events for the organization, and in 2020, he organized a celebrity edition of "The Great British Bake Off" to raise money for the charity. As the cold case turns white hot, Elizabeth wrestles with her conscience (and a gun) while Joyce, Ron and Ibrahim chase down clues with help from old friends and new ones. But can the gang solve the mystery and save Elizabeth before the murderer strikes again? But when a brutal killing takes place on their very doorstep, the Thursday Murder Club find themselves in the middle of their first live case.

Elizabeth has received a letter from an old colleague, a man with whom she has a long history. He's made a big mistake, and he needs her help. His story involves stolen diamonds, a violent mobster, and a very real threat to his life.As the cold case turns white hot, Elizabeth wrestles with her conscience (and a gun), while Joyce, Ron and Ibrahim chase down clues with help from old friends and new. But can the gang solve the mystery and save Elizabeth before the murderer strikes again? Well, let's start with Elizabeth, shall we?" any good writer worth their salt knows the first line of your novel is critical. This is how you pull in your reader and keep them hooked. This is one of the best opening lines I've come across in a long time, unfortunately by the time I got to the end and the murder was solved, I was still confused over who had actually "dunnit" (kinda important if you're writing a whodunnit novel!) and not really caring what the motive of the killer was. Neither were ever fully explained. The third novel, The Bullet that Missed, published in 2022, is the third instalment in the best-selling Thursday Murder Club series to hit the UK shelves. Osman’s beloved ageing investigators return in yet another captivating mystery that blends cosy mystery with fiction to provide yet another story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It is an ordinary Thursday, and things should finally be returning to normal. Except trouble is never far away where the Thursday Murder Club are concerned. A local news legend is on the hunt for a sensational headline, and soon the gang are hot on the trail of two murders, ten years apart. To make matters worse, a new nemesis pays Elizabeth a visit, presenting her with a deadly mission: kill or be killed... As for the mystery itself, it started out really strong. I was completely bought in during the first half, playing arm chair detective while following along with each clue and red herring.
