Keeping Faith season 3 soundtrack: All you need to know about the music from season 3 KEEPING FAITH is back for season three and the plot thickens for Faith and her Mike Taylor case. I sat down with everyone else when it first aired and was gobsmacked that they used the songs so prominently. The songs for the Welsh-spoken version of Keeping Faith, which aired on the Welsh TV channel, were performed by contemporary artist Ela Hughes.

Following the life of Faith Howells, a wife whose husband suddenly vanishes, the Welsh noir thriller (titled Un Bore Mercher in its original language) has a gorgeous, haunting theme tune to match. The track ‘Faith’s Song’ has become so synonymous with the show, and has even encouraged those who haven’t seen it give it a go. I wouldn’t want to try and recreate the same thing in another show, as it wouldn’t feel authentic - but never say never. Ahead of the third season, the musician sent a heartfelt message to fans, saying: "I’ve been working on the show on and off for the last 4 years and have since bought a house, got married and had a kid! Mika is releasing an album in October that I’ve worked on, and there are lots of other projects I’m part of that I can’t talk about yet. I have lived in Wales for over 20 years, so there is no doubt me living here had something to do with my involvement. Not that she needs Ed at all though, considering the attention her songs for Keeping Faith have garnered and her rather extensive back-catalogue.There’s plenty of great music out there – and you’ll find physical music releases from bands and solo artists recommended by the editorial team right here. There is a running theme in all of the songs of the ocean; it’s impossible not to be inspired by the sea as it’s so dominant in the show. I didn’t have a huge amount of time as I was about to go to the US for work, so I read the whole first series over one weekend and sent the songs in not really knowing how they would be used. Score composer Laurence has worked on some of the biggest TV and film releases in the past few years, including The Crown, The Hobbit and James Bond. I just think the show is so real and honest, and I’m so honoured to have been asked to be part of it.

There have been some great ones over the years, but the one which has BBC audiences hooked lately is Keeping Faith’s.
