Frank Cottrell-Boyce is one of those “gem of an author” who knows how to tap into what young people want to read and enjoy. This experience has been fantastic primarily for the children, the school and also for me (professionally). This wacky, comical, entertaining tale reels its way through to the final rescue involving foil blankets and hot chocolate. He ends up marooned on an uninhabited island with a bunch of older children, including his annoying sister.

Sputnik's Guide to Life on Earth was shortlisted for the 2017 CILIP Carnegie Medal and selected for the inaugural WHSmith Tom Fletcher Book Club. With a nod to classics like Lord Of The Flies and Treasure Island this is a rip-roaring tale of buried treasure. I enjoyed the accent of the narrator too, I would have had a completely different experience reading the book myself.Noah is a wonderful narrator, and if you're after an easy read that will give you plenty of giggles, you could do a lot worse. Packed with mystery, adventure and laughs, Noah's Gold is the exciting novel from the bestselling, multi-award-winning author of Millions and Cosmic, Frank Cottrell-Boyce. His sister is pretending she doesn’t know him, their teacher disappears, nobody knows how to source food without Alexa… and what’s this about a treasure map? You guys are such a force for good and I am a passionate supporter of Indie booksellers, so I'm so happy this worked out well (I'd love to know how many books were sold if you have it to hand - it felt like quite a lot! Entertaining storyline, the use of letters being written and received and the shameless promotion of soda bread ,food of the gods!

His characters don't live in fancy houses or go to smart schools; they live in ex-mining communities (Framed), or deprived Northern towns (Millions) and more often than not come from families who are struggling for money (such as in Noah's Gold where Noah's family's reliance on foodbanks is referenced a number of times).Your selection was perfect for our children and what really made the difference was your ability to engage with each child, discuss their interests and help them to choose a suitable book based on your extensive knowledge of the books you were selling. I'm not sure about Dimitri, but if Dimitri means most-annoying-brother-in-the-whole-wide-world, then that's him. When Flora and Sylvie's holiday with dad is cancelled, they are determined to discover who or what is responsible.
