This poster is a great way to encourage EYFS children to recognise different Number Bonds of 10. You can use it in several different ways: The poster includes an illustration of a rainbow, with each number bond connected by the colours. Children can follow along the colour to find the matching pair, starting from the left and working their way to the middle. More resources like this Repeat, with guidance if necessary, until you have 6 pairs of plates with 0 + 5, 5 + 0, 1 + 4, 4 + 1, 3 + 2 and 2 + 3 objects on them. (Note: some children will recognise that some of these pairs are in fact the same. If your child does, just remove the extra pairs and leave 3 in total). It is important to teach number bonds to 10 visually, with practical activities when first introducing them. This can be done with counters as shown below.
How can I use this number bonds to 10 display poster at home?
For example if we remember 5 + 5 , then we can add 1 to one number and subtract 1 from the other to make 6 + 4.
