Padėtį puikiai pataisė pabaiga - Ross užmetė puikų kabliuką, dėl kurios, sekančią dalį, norisi imti iš kart. Detective Inspector Denise MacKenzie is a luscious redhead and one of my favourite characters, as well as the love-of-his-life of Detective Sergeant Frank Phillips. Panic spreads like wildfire as a new serial killer is born, and Ryan's band of detectives must work around the clock to unmask him before he can strike again.

For more of my book reviews, plenty of awesome books to win, author interviews and features come over to join me for book fun at: https://www. I loved DCI Ryan as well as some of the other characters in the book, they all make their own mark on the reader and stand out in their own way. There’s barely time to take breath once the team start their investigations and there’s definitely not much time for personal relationships so they are put on the back burner for most of Angel. The temperature had dropped so that the air was crisp and cold, wiping away the cloud to leave a blank canvas for the night sky in all its splendour.

When bodies start turning up, buried in graveyards and all looking similar, the police force realise that they have a serial killer on their hands. In saying that, the author cleverly gives you bits and pieces of previous cases and events, enough that if you read this as a stand alone you would not feel lost in anyway and enjoy the book immensely. The body of a redheaded woman has been found buried in a shallow grave and the killer has given her wings, like an angel. Aš galiu pasakyti tik vieną, kad jei būčiau turėjusi kitą knygos dalį, būčiau ją i š k a r t o čiupusi į rankas! During my visit, I also learnt that Worswick Street was named after Father James Worswick who founded the church in the 18th Century. Evening ChronicleDetective Chief Inspector Ryan retreats to Holy Island seeking sanctuary when he is forced to take sabbatical leave from his duties as a homicide detective.

He clutched at his head, tugging at the hair above his ears and slamming the heel of his hands against his own skull to relieve the terrible, crushing pressure, moaning like a wounded animal. You can’t help but wonder if Mackenzie herself will end up as a potential victim as she starts to receive threats and also shares the only common connection with the murdered women. Great to catch up with the characters who by now feel like old friends, great storyline which hung together well, but it's a bit sad to have to wait for the next book to find out what happened. Our Adult Fiction Books, Range includes Classics Novels, Comic Books, Crime, Thriller, Mystery Novels, General Fiction, Horror, Romance, Science Fiction and War. Goodreads Librarians are volunteers who help ensure the accuracy of information about books and authors in the Goodreads' catalog. DCI Ryan and his team had finished The Circle, and for a short while, Northumberland CID are the darlings of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

She studied undergraduate and postgraduate Law at King’s College, University of London and then abroad in Paris and Florence. DCI Ryan and his colleagues in Northumbria CID are just getting ready to enjoy their Easter bank holiday weekend when a body is found. Ross often tips her hand as to the killer, but she makes the police work to find him or her and prove it and keeps us puzzled as to how they'll do it.Murder and mystery are peppered with romance and humour in this fast-paced crime whodunnit set amidst the spectacular Northumbrian landscape. I’ve enjoyed DCI Ryan in the past three series, where he (with help, of course) uncovered a creepy religious cult with some surprising killers. I live in the area described and sometimes I get lost, but I find it hard to believe that our police force would have to contend with such indiscriminate carnage? They’re sprinkled with the emotional details, trials and tribulations of the characters’ lives, which makes each of them real and believable. LJ Ross is an international bestselling author, best known for creating atmospheric mystery and thriller novels, including the DCI Ryan series of Northumbrian murder mysteries which have sold over four million copies worldwide.
