Description

It was difficult to be fully invested in Cal and Alana's relationship when he was not being the man she deserved. i've always had a hard time relating to male characters in romance books because most of them are not written for us to relate to them. The added weight throws him off-balance and the three of us crash against the carpet, with him taking the brunt of the weight. He doesn’t tell her about the inheritance since he doesn’t wanna let his brothers down but he feels guilty.

This is such a bittersweet goodbye (and I absolutely cried finishing Final Offer) but nonetheless it ended perfectly and I have no complaints.Cal asked what the other choice was and his dad said he would have to get the forgiveness of his sons and place his shares up for vote like today.

She's shown her humanity in many different ways throughout this book, especially in insecurities she had. She avoids touching Cal and he tries to talk to Lana and since she ices him out, he goes back to drinking, I’m like fuck Cal.lauren asher saved the best for last not only in Kane brother, but also in plot, character development, and writing. I wasn't a fan of the grudge that she held against Cal for dumping her, 6 years ago, because he was struggling with his addiction. Cal used the picture to stay sober, but after he tore his ACL and couldn’t play hockey, it wasn’t enough.

Also, I really commend Lauren Asher writing about heavy topics such as addiction and emotional abuse. he should’ve gotten sober earlier on in the book, preferably he should’ve gone to rehab after he broke her mum’s vase. second chance romances will always be one of my most favorite tropes, and love stories like this are why. and i'll come back to this book, regularly, because despite all the tears i shed, cal and alana were a source of pure joy. NO ONE can convince me a contemporary romance needs to be 600 pgs especially when a good chunk of of it is just filler and repetitive.

Read more about the condition New: A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages. and this parts kinda spoilery but not really: towards the end when Cal tried to explain himself to Lana and she just pretty much dismissed his addiction, just because he was secretive about the will? At every minor inconvenience, she blames it on his addiction and uses and abuses Cal emotionally to get her way, throughout the book.

It always feels hard and bittersweet to say goodbye to a series I've been in love with for so long, but, at least, it was in the best way possible.Lana meets with Violet and Delilah and Violet is complaining about some guy fucking loudly, I feel like she’s the next book. After submitting a drunk proposal criticizing Dreamland’s most expensive ride, I should have been fired. I see a lot of myself in Zahra and I will never forget the feeling of starting this series with such great characters. becoming friends and falling in love young and losing their way, but there’s something so beautiful about how they find their way back to each other.
