The simplest one is that I have spend a thousand dollars and hundreds of hours or so watching all the movies that are made fun of here. This one movie gives me double the pleasure of that investment. It serves as a sonic invitation to the world of teenage rebellion and high school drama that unfolds throughout the movie. Once in a while, a movie comes along that redefines what cinema is. Something that transcends the medium, forcing us to reevalute not only our understanding of film, but our understanding of ourselves . But modern kids (some of them anyway) and movie audiences are much more intelligent than in the past.
