Description

Thomas/ Sir Handel/Gordon/ Peter Sam/James/Percy/ Duncan/ Stepney/Diesel/ Rosie is a really useful engine! Skarloey is the first locomotive model in the range to not have moving eyes and the first HO scale tank engine with an open cab. The centrepiece is Knapford Station, from which visitors can catch trains to Tidmouth Hault pulled by Thomas, Percy or Rosie. A theme park within a theme park, Thomas Land at Drayton Manor is a large themed area with rides, attractions and shows based The narrow gauge van's roofs were most likely originally painted grey but were later changed to white as evidenced by the fact that the underside of the roofs is painted grey and visibly painted white on top afterwards. This change is also likely since the roofs are slightly darker than the Peco models' roofs as a result of being repainted.

The whistle pattern Thomas makes when he wakes Gordon up for the second time is used in Mister Moose's Fun Time whenever Thomas' segment in that show is coming up next. Thomas is a blue tank engine who works at a big station called Knapford on an island called Sodor. His job is to fetch coaches for the other engines and then take them away the engines are done pulling them and when the passengers get out. Thomas thinks he works the hardest and is often very cheeky to the bigger engines, especially a big and proud engine named Gordon who pulls the Express. Thomas likes to startle him rudely by teasing him with his loud whistle. The town's growth as a port and industrial centre has been phenomenal and it rapidly became the Island's commercial capital. However, it still retains many marks of its uncouth origins and is not attractive to tourists. Nevertheless, those ramblers who are bold and dedicated enough to scramble up the steep path beside the Falls of Tid will be rewarded in the valley beyond, which is a place of awesome splendour. Mention of the Falls is a further reminder of Messrs A. W. Dry's enterprise. In 1906, by harnessing the Falls of Tid, Tidmouth became the first town in Sodor to be lit by electricity. Tidmouth received a Royal Charter to become a Borough in 1918. Until well on into the 19th Century, it was a rough place, the haunt of smugglers who alternated as fishermen and who had developed their special kippering process, the secret of which is still jealously preserved today.Knapford is a town on the west coast of Sodor. In The Railway Series, it acts as a small junction station for Thomas' Branch Line. In both Thomas & Friends and All Engines Go, it is a large station that acts as the west terminus of the Main Line instead of Tidmouth. Sir Handel, Peter Sam and Duncan are mentioned in some phrases, despite being narrow gauge engines, and thus having no connection to Knapford. Music cues from this episode were used in some audiobooks of Thomas & Friends, which were only released in Germany.Annie and Clarabel | Henrietta | Old Slow Coach | Slip Coaches | Hannah | Dexter | Green Express Coaches | Emily's Coaches | Toby's Museum Coach | Flora's Tram Coach | Open-Topped Carriages Tidmouth | Knapford | Crosby | Wellsworth | Maron | Cronk | Killdane | Kellsthorpe Road | Crovan's Gate | Vicarstown | Barrow-in-Furness

In addition, he is also the first character that was first made in Large Scale, unlike the other characters who were all first made in HO scale and then made again into large scale. This is due to his model being a repaint of Bachmann’s existing American 4-4-0 tooling. As a result of this, the model is inaccurate in a few places. There are some different variants of the model with the filler caps on the sandboxes, whilst others do not.The coaches in the Thomas' Christmas Delivery and Thomas' Christmas Special sets are Emily's coaches repainted.

Across Thomas Land are rides representing many of the other characters from the stories including James, Diesel, Toby and the Blue Mountain Engines, There are two versions of the 6-ton wagon; one with white lettering and the other with a more cream tint. The white lettering wagons have an unglossed chassis on the bottom and would have the "K101019". Gordon is waiting outside platform 2 for his coaches, but when Thomas puffs in, Gordon and his coaches are outside platforms 3 and 4.There was a discussion in 2009 about someone who exhibited their Thomas layout at an exhibition. They were not allowed to call it Thomas or use any names from the stories to name their layout. HIT Entertainment are notoriously litigious.
