Playing the Game This has to be one of my favourite board games and it is our family favourite! You can play it over and over without changing the cards as there are so many options (and everyone describes them very differently!). This has brought us many hilarious moments (and a few little disagreements) and I have been trying to get my friends into playing it too! When the timer runs out, the turn is finished. The describers count the number of cards that were correctly guessed and move their playing piece forward that many segments. Play passes on to the next team UNLESS you land on a CONTROL or SPIN segment (see below for details). There is NO TIME LIMIT. The team which shouts the answer first get the next turn. If the same team has a second turn, their next describers take their turn. After the CONTROL winners' turn, play passes on to the next team as if that had been their normal turn. To be the first team round to the FINISH segment. Progress is made by correctly guessing what your team mates are describing. Preparing to Play To begin each team’s turn they will choose which players will be the Describers and Guessers. These roles should alternate so all of the players will play as both roles. The number of Describers and Guessers on the team will depend on the number of players on each team: While Articulate! is not going to win any awards for its originality, that does not mean that it is a bad game. In fact I enjoyed the game quite a bit. I have always enjoyed this formula of trying to describe words to get my teammates to guess them. This holds for Articulate! as well as it maintains the key elements of what makes these type of games enjoyable. It is satisfying coming up with words that help your teammate guess a lot of answers in a short period of time. If you like these type of games or think the concept sounds interesting, I see no reason why you wouldn’t enjoy the game.
