Radiant Photo– Radiant Photo superior quality finished photos with perfect color rendition, delivered in record time.Your photos — simply RADIANT.The way they are meant to be. Straight off the bat, there is a clear difference in our ideology and expectations of a lens. Where as I am looking for basically the same version of my Samyang 21mm but as a slight telephoto, Jaco is mainly interested in the compression and FOV. Compression is only slightly important to me, and it’s avoiding the wide angle distortion that has me reaching for the other camera and lens or zooming in more. But compression is not something I think of very often. Chromatic aberrations were also traced along high-contrast edges at f/1.4 when in-camera corrections were turned off. Some mild traces of purple and green fringes of colour were still obvious in shots where the built-in lens profile was applied, so you may find yourself applying some additional manual correction, just as I did. Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN C Resolution, shading and curvilinear distortion Resolution I don’t own any of these other lenses anymore, I just have Fuji’s 56mm. It gets out of my way and lets me focus on my shoots.” PAST BYLINES: Gear Patrol, PC Mag, Geek.com, Digital Photo Pro, Resource Magazine, Yahoo! News, Yahoo! Finance, IGN, PDN, and others.

The 56mm f1.4 is the longest of the trio and gives you an equivalent focal length of 84mm, making it particularly ideal for portrait photography. If you’re a DX user, then the nearest you’ll get to this focal length from a proprietary prime lens is the Nikkor DX 24mm f/1.7 lens, or, you might instead use something like the Nikkor Z DX 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 VR lens or the Nikkor Z DX 18-140mm f/3.5-6.3 VR lens. Alternatively, you might consider mounting the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 S lens, which would give you an equivalent of 75mm on your APS-C camera, but will cost you a little bit more, and is quite a lot larger than the Sigma 56mm lens.

Comments

The Sigma 56mm f1.4 lens has several features that make it stand out. These include a fast maximum aperture of f/1.4, which allows for excellent low-light performance and a lovely shallow depth of field. It also has a high-quality optical design with 10 elements in 6 groups, including two SLD elements and one aspherical element, which helps to reduce chromatic aberration and distortion. The lens has a silent autofocus motor and a manual focus override option. What cameras are the Sigma 56mm f1.4 lens compatible with? Not many cameras in this class offer a seal where the lens mount attaches to the camera body but I appreciated this feature since mirrorless camera sensors are already quite exposed without a mirror to protect them. The short version is this: if Fuji release a fast prime in the 70mm vicinity, I’d rather have that. But compared to any other long lens available for fuji bodies, this is hands down my favourite option.”

The optical path is based on ten elements arranged in six groups. Two aspherical lenses are featured in the line-up, along with a single SLD (Special Low Dispersion) element. Unlike in the sibling 16mm Contemporary lens, there are no FLD (‘Fluorite’ Low Dispersion) elements. Even so, the design aims for optimum sharpness and contrast along with minimal chromatic aberrations and distortion. Ronkonkoma, NY – February 21, 2021 – SIGMA Corporation of America, the US subsidiary of SIGMA Corporation (CEO: Kazuto Yamaki. Headquarters: Asao-ku, Kawasaki-shi, Kanagawa, Japan) is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of interchangeable lenses for Fujifilm X Mount mirrorless cameras. This addition allows users to enjoy high-performance, high-quality SIGMA lenses in native mount on their X Mount system. So, with a very decent build quality, how does the lens perform? Instead of dedicating the lens to portraits, which it would be perfect for with a 35mm full frame equivalent of 84mm, I simply used the lens as an everyday carry lens for the time I had it. Peter Coco includes some portraiture images in his review of the lens, which can be found here. The X-mount version of the lens measures 64.8mm (2.6”) in diameter, 73.6mm (2.9”) long and weighs 275g (9.7oz). 56mm F1.4 DC DN | C More photos here of the performance art project ‘Ma Deirim’. The above image was taken with the 56mm but all other photos of this project were taken with the 50-140mm at f8-f11. So why did I buy it?

No. The Sigma 56mm features a gasket at the mount to protect against moisture and dust, but there is no weather sealing throughout the lens barrel. This means it’s not entirely protected against moisture and dust. However, it is still a high-quality, durable lens well-suited for various shooting conditions. B&H – B&H is a world renowned supplier of all the gear photographers, videographers, and cinematographers need and want to create their very best work.

All three of these lenses have been optimized for use with Fujifilm X-mount camera systems. Specifically, Sigma says the ‘control algorithm, including AF drive and communication speed optimization, has been developed specifically for X mount interchangeable lenses.’ All lenses work with Continuous AF (AF-C) and include support for built-in aberration correction on supported X-mount cameras. 16mm F1.4 DC DN | C

If you have a full-frame Nikon camera, such as the Nikon Z6 II, you can use the Sigma 56mm with it, with your camera automatically diverting to crop mode to give the same 84mm equivalent focal length. You might therefore consider it to be a better priced (and smaller) version of the Nikkor Z 85mm f/1.8 S lens for this type of camera. So, in terms of build and ergonomics, the 56mm f1.4 DC DN Contemporary scores high in my book, and to top it off, it even comes with a lens hood that matches well in terms of size. I tried it, and it works quite well with the lens. It doesn’t get in the way, and it isn’t overly bulky. As well as the 56mm f1.4 DC DN C for Z mount, we also get the 16mm F1.4 DC DN and the 30mm F1.4 DC DN for Z mount. These are designed mainly for use with Nikon’s APS-C models like the Nikon Z50, Nikon Z30 and Nikon Zfc.

Above, left to right: Sigma 56mm f1.4, Sony e 50mm f1.8, Sony FE 50mm f1.8. All at f2. Crops from right side. The lens benefits from an open aperture of F1.4 to achieve a sufficient amount of bokeh and admirable brightness even with APS-C size cameras which tend to have smaller bokeh effects compared to 35mm full-size systems. Its compact and lightweight body is perfect for daily use, capable of capturing various scenes ranging from portraits to snapshots, as well as night view.

Update Procedure

Initially, three F1.4 prime lenses ( 16mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary, 30mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary, 56mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary), which are currently available in four mounts (Sony E-mount, Canon EF-M mount, Micro Four Thirds mount and L-Mount) will be simultaneously released in X Mount, and the lineup will expand in the future. Specifically, the recently-released SIGMA 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN | Contemporary lens, currently available for Sony E-mount and L-Mount, is tentatively scheduled for a December 2022 release. The Sigma 56mm f1.4 lens is ideal for portrait, street and travel photography. Its fast aperture allows for excellent low-light performance and gorgeous shallow depth of field, leading to beautiful bokeh. The lens also has a high-quality optical design that helps to minimize distortion and chromatic aberration, making it well-suited for detailed and high-quality images. Is it worth getting the Sigma 56mm f1.4 for Fujifilm? The Fujifilm X Series system is quite popular because of several reasons with one being there is a great selection of lenses to support the cameras. These lenses aren’t just made by Fujifilm but also from other manufacturers as well. For instance, Sigma has recently started producing lenses with X mount, and one of these is the 56mm f1.4 DC DN Contemporary. I’ve tested this lens previously in other mounts, so while this review may be a bit more condense, I’ll be focusing more on how it performs with X Series cameras. This product is developed, manufactured and sold based on the specifications of E-mount which was disclosed by Sony Corporation under the license agreement with Sony Corporation. The other noticeable thing is the missing aperture ring. Fujifilm X Series cameras are known for their classic look and feel, and something I now really like about the Fujifilm lenses is the aperture rings. I rarely shoot in any mode other than aperture priority and almost always at the widest possible aperture.
