Our servers are getting hit pretty hard right now. To continue shopping, enter the characters as they are shown I liked to use the WD ERFX series while it was available WD Red PMR. Since they were replaced with EZRX I have switched to Seagate Ironwolf, the models were ST4000VN008. Now I see a new model ST4000VN006. It has 256MB instead of 64MB cache, and according to this has two instead of three plates. My question is do we know if it is still a PMR drive?

Sharing is caring! Share SMR HDD with NAS community! Get a notification when something new is added to the list! Store more and work faster with a NAS-optimized hard drive providing ultra-high capacity up to 16TB and cache of up to 256MB Purpose built for NAS enclosures, IronWolf delivers less wear and tear, little to no noise/vibration, no lags or down time, increased file-sharing performance, and much moreReadyCLOUD server will have a maintenance deployment starting 11pm PST on Jan 17th, 2021, expected service downtime of 30~45 minutes. During that period, ReadyCLOUD mobile app or web portal might not allow logins and remote file access.

Netgear has always been slow to update the HCL and gradually it has become less and less useful. IMO it is best to ignore it. Netgear also appears to be quiet-quitting the NAS business, so it is not surprising that Seagate isn't testing ReadyNAS.
