Description

The Malayan Tiger Train (MTT) was launched on 19 December 2011 by then-YB Dato’ Seri Kong Cho Ha, then-Minister of Transport. Likely still in service when the L&MR was absorbed into Grand Junction Railway and then the London and North Western Railway, ‘Tiger’ would gave also been renumbered under its new operator. Not in preservation, it is assumed that at the time ‘Lion’ was withdrawn and converted into a stationary pump ‘Tiger’ was also withdrawn and scrapped. There was a significant amount of preparation for this test. I confirmed the current draw for each locomotive, for each load of 0 to 9 chaldrons. It was safe, varying from about 0.034 amps to 0.04 amps. Next, I tried both locomotives on the same loop. 0.066 amps, still safe. I put them 1/2 loop from each other and let them run, to see which one, if any, was faster. Lion was, but only a pinch so, it took nearly 10 minutes for this to become evident. The locomotives are well matched. Even as cubs. the lion and tiger have distinct coloration differences, especially the stripes versus the solid color. The first Malayan Tiger Train (MTT) would depart from Johor Bahru Sentral Railway Station (JB Sentral), after the official launching ceremony. All of these features fortuitously aligned.I will take some credit for conceiving the inclined plane / horizontal plane equivalence and for a rigid test regime.Further, I expected the drag chains to provide some compliance. So, the short answer is that in battles between lions and tigers, tigers have generally held the upper hand and won fights.Suppose now the following.Lion attempts to pull 9 Chaldrons. It cannot.Lion can readily handle 3, but not 9.Tiger comes up behind and propels some of the Chaldrons before it.As Tiger takes up the load, the load on Lion is reduced and therefore, Lion should be able to handle a reduced load. When does stability occur, if ever?Do the Chaldrons derail?Does Tiger propel 4, Lion pull 4 with the odd Chaldron in the middle bouncing about?

While it is possible that these hybrids could occur in the wild, this is not common. Ligers also have inherent health problems that would make them short-lived in the wild. Interestingly, it is a common misconception that tigons and ligers cannot reproduce. This experiment is completely analogous to the Whiston and Sutton Inclined Planes on the real LMR.The consist is too much for the tiny locomotive and assistance is required. With a closely matched pair, the velocities will match fairly well, and the test will be meaningful. If the propelling engine is too fast or too slow, my analogous test is invalid. The locomotive reasonably depicts Lion, as found and documented in 1929. Trans. Liverpool Engineering Society, Vol L, 1929.you need to book at least 18 coaches. To enjoy a hassle-free booking process at an affordable price, This problem is far from unique.I've taken the hint and constructed a similar wood chaldron buffer attachment, similar to this real world shunter

You’ve heard the statement your whole life–“The lion is the King of the Jungle!” Obviously, this was built around the obvious strength, ferocity, and dominance the lion exhibits as an apex predator in the wilds of Africa and Asia. It’s the way things naturally work in the wild – the predators prey on other animals, in this case herbivores (plant eaters) such as deer. But without enough tigers to eat them, herbivores can over graze and damage the land, disrupting the balance of the local environment. I do worry sometimes that I am boring folks to death, babbling on about some detail or another.Thank you Ellocoloco for your interest. It gives me enthusiasm to go on.

Lions and tigers belong to the same genus but are different species. Tigers are larger than lions and have distinctive stripes. Male lions have long manes. Lions also live in groups, a unique behavior among cats. Gordon's line "Great gears!" and Thomas' line "Whoa!" are reused from the first season episode, A Thomas Promise. As the two largest big cats, a common question is whether a tiger or lion would win in a fight. Today, the ranges of the two animals don’t overlap. Tigers live throughout Asia, while only a small population of lions still exists in the continent and is confined to a single national park in India. Either locomotive is incapable of dragging 9 chaldrons at this speed without wheel slip or stalling with wheel slip. Either could drag 4 chaldrons without any wheel slip.

Tigers can live in a wide variety of natural habitats, from forested habitats, grasslands and mangrove swamps to harsh, snowy forests of the Russian Far East. The tiger is the biggest species of cat on the planet. In Northeast Asia, they tend to be larger with longer hair, while tigers on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia, tend to be smaller and are found in tropical rainforests. Lions do have one advantage – they live and hunt in groups. Though smaller, lions have been known to “gang up” on a kill a lone tiger. An opening speech was made by His Excellency Mr. Shigeru Nakamura, then-Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia. Registering myself for the Malayan Tiger Train (MTT) launching programme with KTM Berhad. Here’s the amazing first glimpse of the Blue Train on passenger service in Malaysia. On the other hand, a tigon is the hybrid offspring of a male tiger with a female lion. Tigons can have spots resembling their mother lion’s and stripes from their tiger genes. Male tigons have shorter and less noticeable manes than typical lions do. Growth-inhibitory genes are passed down to these offspring, so tigons do not grow larger than their parent species. no engine shall propel before it wagons or carriages ... except when assisting up the inclined planes.
