Spiritually, it’s a disrespectful slap fight where rounds will often end in a player utterly embarrassing themselves, but where they have to laugh, because it was always their fault. Trick-taking is having a bit of a moment between this game (and its co-op sequel) and, probably more notably, The Crew coming out in the last few years. Forest school is a long-term, nature-based outdoor learning program that focuses on holistic development and growth in children.

Typical trick-taking mechanisms only allow for three players plus, so as a board gaming couple, The Fox in the Forest jumped up our list of games to play, with a lot of high praise from other reviewers. You might both start off trying to lose, then both switch to trying to win, only for one of you to bail and go back to losing. The Switch version of Fox n Forests sold more copies than other systems: three times more than PC and four times more than PlayStation 4. I'd recommend Pandemic instead, or a non-coop game like Jaipur, Targi, or the original Fox in the Forest, all of which are great options. If it’s just me and my wife and we are going to have a couple of drinks and want to play a card game I will grab The Fox in the Forest.They let you swap the Trump suit card with a card from your hand, a powerful ability, one with more depth than I first imagined.

I still think you can get a bad hand of cards in the game, but it’s not often and because the game plays over a number of rounds, it shouldn’t be a big factor. A thrilling pixel art fable with rewarding super secrets, screen filling bosses and thriving exploration. Roanna Peroz has done an outstanding job with the cover image as well as the card illustrations and game board.

Despite being well-reviewed, this won't be one you instantly want to replay if you have played many other games for two. I’d love to see what you do if you continue with this game and if you’ll be including different species of foxes. It's a cooperative game where a pair will get better at playing as they get more familiar with their partner's style, which can be very satisfying when you beat a difficult game together.
