Description

Arame –Seaweed with beautiful dark brown color that grows in sandy areas of the sea. It is different from the other weeds because it has a semisweet taste and soft texture. You can add this seaweed to any cooking recipe like soups, appetizers, muffins, and smoothies. From a nutrition review, arame is rich in iodine, magnesium, iron, calcium, and vitamin A. Everyone states that Chondrus Crispus has "92 minerals out of the 102 minerals the body needs." Yes, this seaweed has a lot of vitamins and minerals, but does it have exactly 92? And is the body made up of 102 minerals? I realize that on a metaphysical level, one could argue that everything that exists outside of us exists within us and I do agree with that statement. However, on a physical level, I'm not sure if I want to ingest anything that has heavy mineral metals like Mercury, Aluminum, and Flouride. These are all things in the health community we are told to lessen in our bodies and to stay away from.

The variety he recommended was Chrondus crispus, which is the original Irish moss. There are individuals like Dr. Sebi who’ve lived to a Sea Moss and water fasting for a lengthy time. Though trendy superfoods come into and fall out of popularity, these ingredients have been around forever and will continue to provide benefits after people have forgotten them. One of the most recent examples? Sea moss. Sea moss contains a high amount of soluble fiber, which supports healthy digestion, per an October 2019 article in Trends in Food Science & Technology. Well, I never thought I would see the day that sea moss become a trend but here we are! When I published my article How to Make Sea Moss Gel, I was simply sharing another recipe that I have been using for years. But to be fair looking at it from the other side, that could be due to the overwhelming demand which could be putting a strain on inventory. So in that sense, I do understand the need to raise prices. Hopefully, when the hype dies down there, there can be some type of middle ground that works for both business and consumer. I say innocently mistaken because it is not my belief that companies are purposely calling it Irish Moss to be deceptive. In my opinion, it truly is just a small technical error and miseducation of the botanical name for each species. I know of really reputable companies that call it Irish Moss when indeed it's Genus Gracilaria, but again it's just an honest mistake. This is worth repeating. What is sold as Jamaican Purple Sea moss is not Chondrus Crispus. (It's just Purple Genus Gracilara). People mistake that because typically Chondrus is purple. But in viewing the snapshot in the link I provided above, you can see it can vary of color.

This sea plant is particularly popular in the Dr. Sebi diet. Sea moss was one of the Dr. Sebi-approved foods which he recommended for a number of conditions. One of the reasons Dr. Sebi valued this food so much is that it contains the most minerals including the very important mineral, Iron. Genus Gracilaria grows in warmer waters most popular Jamaica and St. Lucia (it's not exclusive to these areas but these are the areas you often hear this species being sold from). Chondrus Crispus has flat fan-like wide shape tops that look like leaves or flowers to me at least. The color is typically dark purple however this can vary. Below is a photo I took of my personal stash of Irish Sea Moss. Its first known use was during the potato famine in Ireland during the 1800s when people began eating the red algae on the beach. This is where the name Irish Moss originated. Kelp– It originates from the Laminariales algae family. It can absorb sea minerals and vitamins that you can use as a natural supplement. Kelp is a natural source of iodine that helps with thyroid problems.

Now I could be wrong as I'm always open to knowledge, but it's also important to question stuff vs regurgitating something. Just because it is repeated a dozen hundred times does not make it true. And its hydrating properties may support moisture retention and contribute to overall skin health, according to a November-December 2012 article in the Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences .Seaweed strengthens the bones and the brain. A weed that you can consume every day while staying on an alkaline diet. According to this study, Chondrus crispus was found to have antiviral and antitumor properties in animals and humans. 2. Healthy Skin & Hair Sea moss possesses potential benefits for skin health and beauty. The antioxidants present in sea moss may help protect against oxidative stress, promoting youthful-looking skin and reducing the appearance of blemishes. Studies have shown that the prebiotic effects of red sea moss may help support a healthy gut, which is important for both digestion and the immune system. 6. Energy
