Secondly, the body of the guitar doesn’t have shielding. This can cause especially single-coils to produce unwanted hum and buzz when there’s radio- or electromagnetic interference present. I have the Ice Blue color model, which looks pretty special as it is a blend of light blue and metallic colors. The color changes slightly with the light and appears gray or light blue depending on where you are.

Before anything, it comes with all you need to start playing, as it features a great accessory bundle. First-time players get a plug-and-play style set, avoiding any extra expense and struggle to complete the set.

QUESTIONS ET RÉPONSES

The body is an ST-style solid alder body which is the most common choice for Stratocasters. Fender also uses Alder often with their St-style guitars. The high gloss finish of DST-400 is also a pretty classic choice which goes well with the Stratocasters. I really had a blast while testing this Donner and its accessories. It’s a good guitar and really great option for beginners. It’s also not perfect, but the flaws my copy had are so small that I can’t complain too much. But are Donner guitars like this? Or are they just cheap Chinese-made axes that don’t deserve any attention from us? Well, you’re about to discover the truth.

A couple of things that are not great for beginners are the bad setup and poor quality control that can happen. 95% of these issues are really small or you can fix the issues by yourself if you watch couple Youtube tutorials, but when starting out, any extra hassle can be annoying. I rate this guitar 4.5 out of 5 for its sound and feel with the offered price. It is a great instrument with a very good value-for-price ratio. Donner DST-152 is suited for entry-level guitarists looking for their first guitar to learn and play. With its great looks, decent performance, and sound, as well as pretty excellent price point, Donner DST-152 is, without a doubt, a great first guitar. I needed to change the strings because the factory set (9-42) was really cheap and the guitar didn’t stay in tune. Thanks to the correct relief from factory, I was able to get great low-string action.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Overall, this Donner is a really comfortable, easy, and smooth playing guitar that should fit players from beginners to pros well. Sound Finally, another con, a bit rough fret edges below the 11th fret I already mentioned in the “Hardware”-section. Again, this didn’t bother me too much, but it’s still something that needs to be pointed out and takes a bit out of the playability score too.

The amplifier was surprisingly good. Due to its small and lightweight construction, I thought It would be useless. I was wrong. The cleans are nice and bright. The distortion is adequate for a beginner. I love the fact that it has rechargeable battery power which makes it very portable. In general, they are no worse than other cheap guitars but don’t expect perfection either. Are Donner Guitars Good for Beginners? Donner guitars are ideal for beginners from the value standpoint. Guitars often come with accessories or even all that you need to get started. Donner guitars are also usually easy to play, versatile, and sound good. Versatile, well-balanced, and smooth. That’s how I would shortly describe the sound of Donner DST-152. But let’s dive a bit deeper… One of the most important things for me and my small hands is the playability of the guitar. And I was pleasantly surprised by the playability of this donner.Tuners and all other important hardware like the bridge seem to be working well which is the most important thing. Another great aspect of DST-152 is that it comes with an excellent accessory bundle. The bundle includes a gig bag, a Donner mini guitar amp, a USB charge cable for the amp, an AUX cable, a guitar cable, an extra string set, a capo, a guitar strap, a tuner, and two Hex keys’ (Allen wrench), one for adjusting the saddle and one for adjusting the truss rod. The Sound, The Feel Of The Donner DST-152 One major problem is with the push-pull knob, which decreases the comfortability of controls. The push and pull knob is hard to manage, especially in the 10th setting. This might take some time to get used to. As I already mentioned, this guitar had a really low action out of the box. After making it a bit higher to get rid of the fret buzz, handling this guitar and accessing all corners of the fretboard was really easy and smooth. Strings feel like the ones from the short-scale guitar(this donner has the regular scale of 25.5”) because they were so easy to fret and bend. I can’t deny it…I just love cheap guitars that are actually good. When you have bought a guitar and find out that it offers outstanding value for the money, it’s a good feeling. You might have gotten even more than you paid for.

As mentioned before, the body type of DST-152 is Strat-style. It is a solid-body guitar with a poplar body and polyurethane body finish. Poplar is a great material for cost-effective guitars as it is lightweight and performs well acoustically. The weight is a bit heavy for me, but this is my preference. It is not a very heavy guitar and would be okay for most of the players. However, the nut should be changed as the plastic nuts are not good in the long term.

I had to admit that the crunch tones were the ones I least enjoyed with this Donner, but it doesn’t mean this axe sounds bad with crunch, it just was just not my favorite use for this guitar. But crunch tones of this axe are still really good for the price. The setup the guitar came with is low, which is great. So it is ready to play out of the box. The 2-point bridge system is really good; I prefer it instead of the 5-point systems, as these ones are easier to set up. Although it is a newcomer in the musical instruments and accessories scene, Donner is well-known for its affordable yet surprisingly high-quality gear among musicians. It offers many products with a high value-for-price ratio, making the brand favorable among musicians who are after reliable instruments and accessories for reasonable prices. I mainly think missing shielding as a real con because most guitars from this price have had shielding on them, so this guitar missing the shielding makes it a bit below the average in the electronics department.
