Description

Plymouth Fruit Cup was launched in 2003 by Plymouth Gin and is the strongest of the fruit cups and is often mixed with fruit liqueurs, vermouths, aromatic bitters, and citrus extracts. Whilst originally launched in 2011 as a “summer cup,” the current version from Sipsmith uses their London Dry Gin as a base that is blended with Earl Grey tea, lemon verbena, and borage. During the 19th century, the brand struck up a very profitable commercial relationship with the Royal Navy.

Austin’s Summer Punch Aldi — Spirits — The Three Drinkers

This cup starts out as a botanical distillate of Taylor’s of Harrogate’s Yorkshire Gold Tea, which is then blended with freshly-brewed Yorkshire Gold Tea and sugar. Plymouth Gin has been distilled using the same blend of seven exotic botanicals, soft Dartmoor water and pure grain alcohol since 1793 in the coastal town of Plymouth. Most commonly, these are gin-based, although there are some varieties based on other spirits such as vodka. Deliciously moreish, it has the sheer power of flavour required to make it perfect for producing pitchers of fruit cup and lemonade or ginger ale; a convenient, but flavourful serve on warm, sunny evenings with friends. Here’s my verdict on the latest Pimm’s-like plonk for all budgets because you know, someone has to do it!

6 of the best gin cocktails for summer | Great British Life

Well, that’s the birthplace of cocktails in general with the first-ever invented cocktail, the Sazerac. Add the punch and stir before topping up with lemonade when you’re ready to serve it, stirring very gently to keep the bubbles bubbling. Launched in 2003 and produced by the makers of Plymouth Gin, it is one of the strongest fruit cups at 30% ABV, which Plymouth says gives it a fuller flavour. This cup hails from the Woodlab Distillery in Ireland and has a particular focus on summer fruits and berries. Some mixologists add their own twists, add more alcohol, and add variations of fruit and botanicals. Never Never Fancy Fruit Cup is from South Australia, made in a collaboration between Never Never Distilling Co. Fill a tall glass with ice, pour in a measure of Plymouth Navy gin and top with Aromatic Tonic, give a gentle stir and garnish with a slice of lemon or orange (or both).
