Amulet: The Stonekeeper: Book One by Kazu Kibuishi - review
Social Studies: In Book Four: The Last Council (p. 81), Vigo recounts how Silas criticized the Council for making decisions based on its fears. Discuss how political and social decisions are made and why making decisions from fears may or may not be the best way to legislate. At the end of the story, Emily sees Vigo Light using his amulet to create a bird to honor the fallen stonekeepers, and joins him. Vigo first appears in the fourth book, when Cogsley and Miskit fall off the Luna Moth and he rescues them and brings them to his house. As a child, he befriended Max Griffin, who often had no friends due to his respect to elves, even though the specific elves he respected did a lot to help the city of Cielis. Soon after he joined the guardian council (the protectors of Cielis) he left because the council only made its decisions based on its fears. When he grew up, Vigo married someone, but after his wife died, his son made an attempt to travel into the past to revive her, a technique of using the power stonekeepers possessed that Silas had made a theory of, when really he was just entering his memories. He stayed in his memories for months, never waking up, then died, causing much grief to Vigo. In the other books, he tries his best to help the crew of the Luna Moth. He originally disliked Trellis, but became loving to him in the 5th book. In the sixth book, He mentioned that he didn't like leaving Emily with Gabilan as, by his once being a father, he had a father's instinct. He has a grey beard, and wears a blue overcoat. Interestingly, his stone is green and does not have the Voice's symbol on it, like all the other stones do.Riva Ash is an elf, and the mayor of Lucien. Her father was responsible for building an underground haven for the inhabitants of Lucien, which proved useful when Max Griffin, destroyed Lucien. Riva is first seen in book 6, where she rescues Navin and his crew from a swarm of Shadows. Her family's reputation is mixed; her father did build the underground haven, but Riva mentions that her family had "traits which, I hope, I did not inherit." Telepathy: A stonekeeper whether willing or not can communicate or enter the void with another stonekeeper it is unknown if a storekeeper can communicate with someone who doesn't possess a stone.

In the Prologue of Book I, she wore a long-sleeved crimson shirt layered under a pair of navy-blue overalls and dark-pink shoes. In the present, she wears a long-sleeved mauve hoodie with a pair of white drawstrings layered over a white T-shirt, a pair of blue-gray pants, and dark-pink sneakers with pink and white accents. Served as a stonekeeper and from the end of Book 1 to the beginning of the next book, Emily wears a button-up cerulean shirt over an ice-blue one, navy-blue pants, and the same shoes as well as a long, hooded yellow-tan cape. While initially seeing Navin as quite a bit of an immature younger brother, as shown when she is reluctant to allow him to pilot the Luna Moth, [5] she seems to develop a deeper respect for him after witnessing his technological and leadership skills. Due to the responsibilities imposed on them after entering Alledia, both siblings develop not only in their overall maturity but in their relationship and willingness to work together as well. During the various occasions Emily and Navin are separated while in Alledia, they worry about each other's safety often and even embrace whenever reunited. Navin is an amazing pilot and can be seen keeping everyone out of danger with his skills. Alyson Hunter: Not many interactions have been seen between the two, however they both seem to hold a mutual respect for each other. Emily has expressed her trust for her to keep Navin safe. In Book One: The Stonekeeper (p. 67), Emily and Navin escape a monster by jumping off a cliff and using large mushrooms as “sails.” Write how it might feel to parachute with a mushroom. When Stonekeepers lose control of the stone, they turn into beast-like versions of themselves that, while more powerful, also cause mass destruction, The most common form of Stonekeeper transformation is titanic transformation, in which the Stonekeeper will turn into a massive version of themselves, which has been shown more with Elves more than it has with Humans. The other, less common version of Stonekeeper transformation is the Firebird transformation, only shown by a human, that being the main character, Emily Hayes. While it is not specified whether or not Elf Stonekeepers can turn into Firebirds, Human Stonekeepers can turn into larger versions of themselves, as shown by the Stonekeeper who destroy Algos Island and Gabilan's home.
