Dang, Thats alot for a controller made like idk, 20 years ago. but that sega controller is looking at me. When you configure your controller in EmulationStation, the RetroPie setup script automatically configures RetroArch with the same controls. By the way. Genesis Online has no Appel to me, I bought the Genesis Classics (Switch and the even better Steam version) Seems nice but I will never buy another 8bitdo product after both of controllers I got from them ended up breaking. That N64 controller needs to rumble like crazy when I'm looking for secrets in OOT and blowing things up in Lylat Wars.

for these controllers is a joke. There are great companies making retro controllers for less right now. RetroPie supports many popular controllers out of the box. On first boot you will be prompted to configure a controller in EmulationStation. Once you finish configuring your controller, multiple configuration profiles will be automagically generated for most of the systems in RetroPie.

On the bottom edge, there are four green LEDs which give information on various things, such as the power level of the pad's battery, whether or not it's trying to connect and what 'Player number' it is assigned to. On the top, you'll find the USB-C charging port, which is also used to deliver firmware updates to the device. Toggling between the pad's various compatibility modes – which cover Switch, Windows, Android, macOS, Steam and Raspberry Pi – is done via button combinations when starting up, and these have thankfully become standardised across 8BitDo's products over the years so it's easy to remember what's what.

GamingDude800 That's a huge leap in the wrong direction you made there. It's not about being wired or not wired (at all); it's about all round quality. One of those pads is clearly cheap meh, and the other is not. RedMageLanakyn Oh, no, Sega's rolling D-Pad is the greatest D-Pad design ever made, due to how easy and accurate it is to push diagonal direactions without impeding your ability to push in the cardinal directions! I just don't understand why nobody else ever adopted the design. As seen above in the config for the USB SNES controller, each input on the controller has an associated value. When setting up the controller in EmulationStation, these values are then assigned a respective action on RetroArch.

RetroArch and libretro provide ability to configure controllers once for many emulators instead of having to configure each emulator individually. However, RetroArch also provides the freedom to configure specific emulators individually and even individual games differently if the user wants. This allows a specific setting or button mapping for a certain console or even just for a certain game. Serrano, Aarón Rodríguez; Núñez, Marta Martín; Catalán, Shaila García (May 4, 2020). CurryPowderKeg79 @ReaderRagfihs Very clearly, you have no clue whatsoever what "cheap" looks like in terms of gamepad design.
