I’m a rather new player so I’m not sure if multiple warmaster procs are intentional or not so I figured I would just share this knowledge. The story moves forward from that point, and then also goes back to Lord Henry’s marriage to Irish/American Marie Corcoran. In addition, her equipment should have decent amount of Accuracy (to land those debuff), Defense and HP (for survivability) and bonus to have Critical Rate and Critical Damage for added damage and healing in case the Warmaster did not proc to recover her health.

It gave me a veritable cast of characters to champion, cheer and jeer or hiss at, my loyalties fluctuating greatly throughout. The downside of Fayne is she is not great against mobs of enemies as her debuff are mostly single-target. To name a few, we have deaths by drowning in the bogs surrounding Fayne, madwomen being put away in terrible places, illegitimate children, a baron of the lineage being put away for having a tail, drug addiction—and I’ve avoided mentioning some of the biggies! The whole effect was nothing if not runic and for a mad moment I wondered whether my tutor had transcribed Byrn’s dialect.Charlotte’s mother and infant brother have died, and young Charlotte has a brightness about her and a longing to go to school and become a doctor. But it’s also a big-hearted book that creeps up on you and has you in its hold, as stealthily as that sudden mist rises on the moors around Fayne House. Ann-Marie MacDonald is a Canadian playwright, novelist, actor and broadcast journalist who lives in Toronto, Ontario. Many, many thanks to NetGalley, Penguin Random House Canada and Knopf Canada for an ARC of Ann-Marie MacDonald’s newest novel, Fayne! Since I already started down the support tree, I’ll try to update with the difference when my team is built.

Although not completely without conscience, Fayne found great enjoyment in manipulating those around her, and always put her own safety and comfort above that of others. But when Charlotte and her tutor’s explorations of the bog turn up an unexpected artefact, her father announces he has arranged for her to be cured of her condition and her world is upended. I loved how the book explores so many liminal states while also setting at its heart a character who embodies one.Fayne alternates between Charlotte’s story and that of her parents, Henry and Mae, and Aunt Clarissa, although it initially irritated me whenever this switch took place.
