In another articleby addiction counselor Rita Barsky notes that many addicts grew up within dysfunctional families and noted: Write it down, or type it out. Whatever works, just create a practice that holds both you and your vendors accountable. It’s easy to get confused, or refer to something that might be for another event! When we are stressed, we want to yell. But that only makes us get tenser. Amid the chaos, a low and calm voice keeps us calm and forces our kids to be quiet to hear us. I love to say, “I can’t hear you when you’re yelling. You have to lower your volume.”Your calm voice will cause them to match yours. It’s an easy way to calm yourself and the kids simultaneously. And if you’re really desperate, offer a reward for the winner of the quiet game. 2. Create a quiet reset ritual.

I do not know the answer to that; however, what I do know whatever side you are on this fence, finding a licensed qualified therapist/psychologist can help you control your behavior and/or deal with someone in your life exhibiting this behavior. These individuals create chaos and turmoil to keep you (and others) in a heightened state of anxiety. He/she will do this even when things are good – even more so when things are good! They can be outright aggressive, or they can be passive aggressive in their sabotaging efforts. Sometimes they are both.

Opposites for chaos

One of the key elements of being a successful "Chaos Coordinator" is the ability to view chaos not as a hindrance but as an opportunity. Chaos is, in essence, the manifestation of unexpected change, and with change comes innovation, adaptation, and growth. It's about turning what could be seen as problems into stepping stones for progress. Another hard fact: while I would prefer everyone text me their questions during an event, it doesn’t happen. I always have a vendor or two who want to talk on the phone, and I know it’s going to be either a long conversation or something we’ve previously discussed. I still humor the phone call, as I know they are going to keep calling. Do not say yes to things that make your life more complicated out of guilt. Moms have trouble managing chaos when they allow more chaos to come their way. If having friends come and play creates unneeded stress, tell the neighbor kids you’re having a no-play day. It’s okay to say no to things that don’t work well for you. Sometimes we say yes because we think we need to be busy, but we forget we don’t need to be busy all of the time. So here is your permission to say no. 6. Breathe. Also on this note, I’ve decided I don’t like the saying the customer is always right .Instead of saying this under my breath at given situations, I’m now saying to myself the customer is yours. For that time, for that day, that’swho your customer is.

If you tested positive for being a chaos coordinator, here are five practical ways to promote stability and overcome addiction to chaos: I need sleep and I need to be full. I usually carb up leading up to the event like I’m preparing for a marathon.I need to rest. I pull long hours for these events at least two weeks out before the festival. Crunch time is real. But I try to still be in my pj’s by 9:30, all electronics off.I wake up the same time every day, and perform my morning rituals. Sometimes we need light and quiet for five minutes. If you need calm, give yourself a mental break while the kids play. Sit on your front porch and give yourself five minutes to drink water or sip your coffee, and stay off your phone! Let your mind wander and roam and reset without filling it with more things to think about. Often we stress because we continue to add more chaos that isn’t necessary. 3. Send the kids outside.Perhaps the most fulfilling aspect of being a "Chaos Coordinator" is empowering the team. By unveiling the hidden issues and guiding the team through them, growth becomes a natural by-product. It's about creating an environment where every member can embrace change and flourish. use a mantra (suggested: “I will let go of the need to be needed/I will let go of the need to be accepted/I will let go of the need to be accomplished”) If you took the test and tested negative, but have a Chaos Coordinator in your organization impacting you and others, here are some tips in dealing with them. The title “chaos coordinator” is not just a phrase people put on shirts. Instead, it’s a job promotion from having little humans tearing through our house. Kids still think jumping from couch to couch is an acceptable form of exercise while stripped down to undies with kitchen tools in their hands. And it’s enough to send even the most even-keeled mama to a state of madness sometimes. As moms, we know that craziness is a part of our life. However, many of us don’t know how to stay calm during the chaos. Is it even possible? In my workplace, I often find myself faced with a multitude of challenges, some of which are anticipated and others that emerge from the depths of unpredictability. It's the latter category that often falls into my lap, and I've affectionately embraced the title of a "Chaos Coordinator" to describe my role in dealing with these unexpected hurdles.

Most every organization has one. You know – finding delight in stirring the pot and creating chaos. Not your typical workplace fun, but more to cause harm than good. Perhaps you have been one at some point in time? In conclusion, the role of a "Chaos Coordinator" is not for the faint of heart. It's about conquering the uncharted territories of unforeseen challenges and providing the team with the tools and mindset to thrive amidst chaos. This role is a reminder that in the face of uncertainty, there's always an opportunity for growth and innovation. Chaos isn't a hindrance; it's a gateway to a brighter, more adaptable future. Our minds need to have a release for our adult tension to stay calm in kid tension. If you are not creating a time to exercise your body and feel stressed with kids, now is the time! It allows you to burn off agitation and stress and gets your endorphins and energy up. A stressed mom will do better in the chaos when moving too. I kid you not. If you need to hire a sitter to go on a long walk, it might be worth your money on a particularly chaotic day. 5. Say no. The fire service is extremely diverse and has quite a cast of characters. We learn the art of “psychological warfare” early. Resolve the situation. Do your best to maintain a professional relationship and make sure you both come out on the up and up. (Sometimes a t-shirt for their staff, a bottle of wine, or a simple thank you note can go a long way.)

Make sure your team, hired help and volunteers have assignments and know your overall objectives for the event. They will be representing you all over the festival, and it’s important that they be knowledgeable about the event and the facility. I think it is. Not in every single moment, but certainly as a whole. And it’s all about training ourselves to reset ourselves in small ways. How to Stay Calm as a Parent While Surrounded by Chaos Here are my favorite ways to find my calm in the chaos. 1. Keep a low voice in the midst of the crazy. get your hands and feet dirty (do some gardening, go for a walk on the beach, etc.). Obviously, there is no clinical research confirming that these strategies would help overcome “chaos addiction” but engaging in them certainly will not do anyone any harm.

Let’s say you can’t resolve the issue, no matter how hard you try. Here are a couple of things I always think about: They never felt safe in their family of origin and the only thing they knew for sure was that nothing was for sure. Life was totally unpredictable, and they became conditioned to living in chaos. When discussing chaos in our lives, it was often not the kind that can be seen. The unsafe and chaotic living conditions of our lives were not visible or obvious to the outside world. Despite the appearance of everything being under control, they experienced continued chaos, developed a tolerance for chaos, and likely became addicted to chaos. I think it is important to say there has never been a scientific experiment to investigate this theory. It is based on observation of numerous addicts and their behavior.”Innovation isn't just a buzzword – it's a core part of the job. A Chaos Coordinator thrives on solving problems in creative ways. It's about finding unconventional solutions and encouraging a culture of adaptability within the organisation. Every hurdle is an opportunity to do things better. Don’t hoard information because you think that’s how you bring value to the team. You are bringing value by being the leader of the event and everything you have worked on up to this point. And remember it’s ok to say no. You may not win them over as a repeat customer, and that is ok.But try your hardest to make them smile, or laugh, or agree so that you can both move forward. Once we've identified these challenges, effective communication is paramount. A "Chaos Coordinator" must be a bridge between departments, translating issues into solutions, and ensuring all stakeholders understand the problem and the path forward. It's about fostering collaboration and synergy.
