She has a soft spot for strong guys with big hearts, and thinks the only thing better than one book boyfriend is TWO book boyfriends... or maybe three 😜; When she's not writing, she's usually reading, accidentally killing her potted plants, or finding a pet to cuddle. This book just wasn’t enjoyable to me because I spent so much of it being uncomfortable. With the heroine, the guys, the plot, everything. I didn’t connect to anyone or anything. This author really knows how to emotionally torment me and then make the characters kiss it all better again. It’s very satisfying. Again, this Lily Gold book didn’t work for me… I think that she’s at her best when she does lighter, funnier books - like Faking With Benefits or Nanny for the Neighbors. But maybe it’s just that’s what I prefer from her so… maybe give this one a shot if you want to try a contemporary reverse harem.

PDF / EPUB File Name: Triple-Duty_Bodyguards_-_Lily_Gold.pdf, Triple-Duty_Bodyguards_-_Lily_Gold.epub Ok, on to the review: What an amazing book! I know that people often think of romance novels as being “porn for women” or not worthy of serious praise, but this book blows all of those stereotypes out of the water. I’m honestly not sure why I even bothered finishing this… once I got to the end, I realized that I wished I DNFd it at around the 30-40% when I realized I wasn’t enjoying it… but oh well - I somehow made it to the end. Two childhood friends. Two broken hearts. One impromptu road trip to get away from everything. That’s all this was supposed to be. Afterall, I’ve been living in the friend zone for years now. Briar might be my favorite FMC in any book ever. This wasn’t a sad book/had a sad ending, but I’m tearing up thinking of how powerful she was. 🥺

This was fun! If you're looking for an easy and steamy read and don't mind reverse harem, then I recommend you read this. One other random thing that I loved was that the FMC never became a side character in her own story. This is a complaint that I have with Asian dramas more so than romance novels. But many stories tend to start with a strong but traumatised FMC, but by the end of the story all of the focus is on the MMC and his hurt and trauma. In Triple Duty Bodyguards, Briar is the one that gets kidnapped and ends up in the hospital. The MMCs are still very present and have their own growth arcs and thoughts, but the story stays focused on Briar. (No to get into the psychology of why I love seeing my favourite characters getting hurt). I was so excited for this book and I am really sad to say it was low-key a disappointment. I feel like the plot was all over the place and one of the guys barely got any pov’s so I feel that we didn’t really get to know him like the others. The story is fast paced, well researched and entertaining. The world building is so detailed that it is easy to fully immerse yourself in the story. Sexy scenes are included throughout the story but only add to the growing relationship between the characters, and occur in various combinations of M/F, MFM, or MFMM. No swords cross in the story.

Once you start reading this book you won’t be able to put it down until the end! So make sure you have plenty of time to devote to this story so you won’t end up reading until the wee hours of the morning and having a book hangover like I did!I absolutely love this book. LIilly Gold is absolutely an amazing writer. She makes sure all the guys get attention from the MFC there is one on one time along with group which is great because you can see each relationship develop. The author did an amazing job of making these characters multifaceted, complex and very interesting. The emotional growth of each character feels genuine, and definitely had me laughing, crying, sympathizing and giving me all the feels. I have an especially strong love-hate relationship with reverse harem. It’s my favourite genre, but it is especially riddled with shitty MMCs and horribly bullied FMCs. I really enjoyed reading this. I’m a bit sad it’s over and I’ve read all her other books she’s got out. Now I have to wait for a new release. What the hell am I gonna read in the meantime? 😒 One celebrity diva in trouble. Three overprotective bodyguards determined to keep her safe. As one of the world’s most hated celebrities, I’m used to unwanted attention. But when I wake up one morning to find a mysterious man has broken into my ho...

I have a theory: I don’t think she’s rude or b* I knew that when that happened, my life would never be the same again. Never. I’ve never loved a girl so much. Losing her might just break me.”Really enjoyed this book. A but long, I didn’t feel it had to be that long. There also wasn’t a lot of romance as I really wanted. I just wish there was more cute and fluffy, more focused on the stalker & her life as a celebrity. The characters first meeting then just set the tone for the rest of the novel. Briar was unapologetic in her demands and confidence, while still being human and caring in her emotions. There was such an interesting balance between her “bitchiness” being an act, and it just being a part of her personality. Not to mention, while she does have some moments of reflection and personal growth, her core personality remains throughout the story. I highly recommend this book if you want a thoroughly entertaining and romantic book with some intrigue thrown in. It is a RH (no MM) with ultra spicy scenes. I swear sapphic authors can write the spice 🥵🥵. The relationship between Briar, Kenta, Matt, and Glen is profound and I couldn’t get enough. Briar slowly breaking down her walls to let them in, Matt working through his PTSD from blaming himself for what happened in the past, Glen started to believe that he’s worth more than he thinks, and Kenta trusting that he has something to offer other than keeping everyone together. Their bond, friendship, trust, respect, and honesty was inspiring and beautiful. Briar’s ability to take what the world saw her as and use it to her advantage, proved how strong and capable she is. The plot was interesting and different from her other books. We actually get a few chapters from ‘X’, Briar’s stalker, and it added to the creep factor for sure.
